Welcome and Announcements

Shared by Lois Beberniss

Opening Words

Led by Lois Beberniss

One: Who are we and what are we called to do?

All: We are the sensitive and responsive ones called to

create a world where every person is radically affirmed and barriers between people become bridges of inclusion, justice, and spirituality.

Call to Worship

Led by Cindy Hoard

One: We live at mystery’s edge watching for a startling

luminescence or a word to guide us.

All: In fragile occurrence the Spirit of Life and Love is

present.

One: Daily, there are glimmers, reflections of a seamless mercy, even bold actions

All: So we listen. We watch. We stay curious. We learn as these circles of grace spill out around us announcing that we are part of this mystery.

Singing Our Welcome Weavers

Shared by Tanner Bayles

Chorus

We are weavers of today with a vision for tomorrow,

Hopin’ for the time when we shall overcome

Injustice and oppression, hatred and distress,

Workin’ for the day when we shall all be one.

There are many threads of us, each with a diff’rent name,

Some are strong, some are frayed, no two are the same,

Yet we each have something special

to weave in God’s tapestry,

Our backgrounds and our talents,

our cultures and our creeds.

Chorus

These gifts we bring together are pieces of the whole;

Each one is important, but none can stand alone.

We must unify our vision toward the kingdom with no end,

Become one in God’s creation, weaving all our pieces in.

Chorus

Well, the weaving’s never finished

nor the needlework complete

Until all people everywhere are cared for and are free.

Together let us be united, trusting God’s love as our loom,

Praying that God’s tapestry will be finished soon.

Chorus

Centering Prayer

Shared by Rev. Dr. David Hodgson

Spirit of Life and Love, Speaker of Riddles and Subversive Truths, open our hearts to the uncomfortable beauty of your stories. Do not let us settle for easy comfort. Help us weave the radical love of Jesus into the fabric of our ordinary days.

When we feel overwhelmed by the vastness of the world's pain, help us trust that small acts of justice, quiet words of solidarity, and tiny shifts in our own habits can grow into shelters of hope for others.

Jesus didn't leave us a blueprint; we were left stories to live into. Do not let these parables remain trapped in ancient ink. Weave them into our budget, our conversations, our politics, and our breath. Give us the courage to step inside the story: to bind the wounds of the stranger on our own dangerous roads, to embrace the marginalized, and to scatter small seeds of hope. May our mercy be the plot twist, our justice be the turning point, and our radical welcome be the final sentence of your love. Amen.

Invitation to Give

Led by Cindy Hoard

One: God is not dynamic only in history books or ancient texts; the Divine Spirit is actively moving, disrupting, and healing our world right now. Our giving is a tangible way to say "yes" to that movement.

All: When we share our resources, we open our hands and our lives to cooperate with God’s ongoing work of love and liberation.

One: Let us give joyfully today, ready to be part of what God is doing next.

In our offerings, we share not only measurable treasures of time, talents, and resources, we radically commit ourselves to sharing immeasurable gifts of forgiveness, grace, compassion, acceptance, and loving concern with each other and with ourselves.

In response to our celebrations and the deep goodness of life, our offerings for the celebration of life, in this place and beyond, shall now be received.

Singing Our Faith I Am the Light of the World

Shared by Tanner Bayles

Chorus

“I am the light of the world!

You people come and follow me!”

If you follow and love, you’ll learn the mystery

of what you were meant to do and be.

To find the lost and lonely one,

To heal that broken soul with love

To feed the hungry children

With warmth and good food,

To feel the earth below the sky above!

Chorus

To free the prisoner from all chains,

To make the powerful ones care,

To rebuild the nations

With strength of goodwill,

To see God’s children everywhere!

Chorus

To bring hope to every task you do,

To dance at a baby’s new birth,

To make music in

An old person’s heart,

And sing to the colors of the earth!

Chorus

Word About Life The Rest of the Story

Shared by Rev. Dr. David Hodgson

It was fitting to make merry and be glad,

for this your brother was dead, and is alive;

he was lost, and is found.

Luke 15:3

Words for Mission

Led by Rev. Dr. David Hodgson

One: As you leave this place, may you find God in all of the

messy middle things of life. May you move through this

world with an open heart, with a curious mind, and with the

confidence that you do not go alone. God is with you in the

mountains, in the valleys, and everywhere in between.

These are the times!

All: We are the people!.

One: All of Creation is blessed!

All: May we love all and serve all!

One: God be with you.

All: And also with you.

One: Amen.

All: Amen.

Sending Forth Song It’s A Brand New Day

Shared by Tanner Bayles

It’s a brand new day full of possibility,

It’s a brand new day full of hope for you and me.

And tomorrow’s here today

bringing change along the way

So let’s live our life and say it’s a brand new day.

It’s a brand new day full of awe and mystery,

It’s a brand new day to create our history,

As tomorrow fades away,

weaving lessons through our way

We can live our life and say, “It’s a brand new day!”

Sermon Reboot is ON for today.

This is a time to talk about the message and explore together using the ORID Art Form Conversation methodology. What is ORID? It stands for Observation, Reflection, Interpretation, and Decision. You will get the hang of it.
