Prelude The Work of Our Hands

Shared by Travis Meyers by Carrie Newcomer

Opening Words

Led by Pastor Ken

One: Who are we and what are we called to do?

All: To create a world where every person is radically affirmed and barriers between people become bridges of inclusion, justice, and spirituality.

Welcome and Announcements

Call to Worship

Led by Pastor Ken

One:    The thought manifests as the word.

All:      The word manifests as the deed.

One: So watch the thought and its ways with care.

All: We come together to have our thoughts, words, and deeds be born out of concern for all beings. Let us begin and let us sing!

Singing Our Faith ~ "All Are Welcome"

Please stand if comfortably able               by Marty Haugen

1. Let us build a house where love can dwell

      and all can safely live.

A place where saints and children tell

How hearts learn to forgive.

Built of hopes and dreams and visions,

Rock of faith and vault of grace.

Here the love of Christ shall end divisions:

All are welcome, all are welcome,

All are welcome in this place.

2. Let us build a house where love is found

     in water, wine and wheat.

A banquet hall on holy ground

Where peace and justice meet.

Here the love of God through Jesus is

   revealed in time and space.

As we share in Christ the feast that frees us.

All are welcome, all are welcome,

All are welcome in this place.

3. Let us build a house where all are named,

     their songs and visions heard.

And loved and treasured taught and claimed

As words within the Word.

Built of tears and cries and laughter,

Prayers of faith and songs of grace.

Let the house proclaim from floor to rafter:

All are welcome, all are welcome,

All are welcome in this place.

The Peace

Led by Pastor Ken

The Word About Life for Today - Romans 12:9-21

Shared by Pastor Ken

One:    Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good;

All:     Love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor.

One: Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Spirit of Life and Love.

All: Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer.

One:  Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.

All:     Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.

One: Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.

All: Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; do not claim to be wiser than you are.

One: Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all.

All: If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.

One: Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for the wrath of God; for it is written, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord."

All: No, "if your enemies are hungry, feed them; if they are thirsty, give them something to drink; for by doing this you will heap burning coals on their heads."

One: Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Singing Our Faith

1 For everyone born, a place at the table

For everyone born, clean water and bread,

A shelter, a space, a safe place for growing,

For everyone born, a star over head.

Chorus

And God will delight when we are creators

of justice and joy, compassion and peace:

yes, God will delight when we are creators

of justice, justice and joy.

2.   For just and unjust, a place at the table,

Abuser, abused, with need to forgive,

in anger, in hurt, a mindset of mercy,

for just and unjust, a new way to live.

Chorus

3. For everyone born, a place at the table,

To live without fear, and simply to be,

To work, to speak out, to witness and worship,

For everyone born, the right to be free.

Chorus

Sharing the One Table

Led by Pastor Ken

One:    In our giving, our hearts are opened, our hands unclenched, our ears unclogged, and our eyes opened,

All: that we may feel and touch and taste and see the breath and play of God in our midst.

One: At this table, we give thanks for justice, love, peace, and freedom.

All:   At this table, we give thanks for friends and strangers together in this community and in this safe place.

One: At this table, we have the privilege and joy to be instruments of the inclusive welcome of God. Just as Jesus invited all to the feast of peace and new life, we also make the invitation. Jesus risked everything in compassion. Jesus promised to make himself known in the breaking of the bread. This invitation, and sharing of bread and cup, proclaims a deep truth about Being-Itself. If you perceive it, then share it.

(Even if you are home please join us because all are welcome.

Go to your kitchen. Get a cracker or piece of bread. Sip some juice or your coffee. Through the Spirit of Life and Love, we are connected and share this great feast of grace.

Our offering for the communion baskets is dedicated to the Refugee Resettlement Fund.)

Celebrations and Celebration Song

Led by Pastor Ken

This is our time to share the celebrations of our lives: birthdays,

anniversaries, words of kindness, and works of peace and justice.

Celebrate your heart and your spirit,

Celebrate your life while you live it.

Even when it’s hard to do,

Celebrate the best of you.

Celebrate your dreams and your visions,

Celebrate the love you’ve been given.

Cherish all that you’ve been through,

Celebrate the best of you.

Invitation to Give
