Prelude ~ Praise Him, Praise Him

Shared by Christine Kyhn

Welcome and Announcements

Pastor Ken

Opening Words

Led by Pastor Ken

One: Who are we and what are we called to do?

All:  We are the sensitive and responsive ones called

to create a world where every person is radically

affirmed and barriers between people become

bridges of inclusion, justice, and spirituality.

Call to Worship

Led by Linda Johnston

One: How we love the ways of God’s life and love!

All: We gather to meditate upon it.

One: We meditate on it day and night.

All: The Word About Life offers us under-

standing and wisdom.

One: God’s word is sweet to taste: sweeter than

honey!

All: We rejoice because the Word About Life is

a lamp to our journey,

One: And a light to our path. Let us sing our faith!

Celebrations and Celebration Song

Led by A WISE Team Member

At this time, we share moments from our lives: birthdays,

anniversaries, and words of peace and justice. We celebrate

sorrows and grief as part of our comprehensive view of life.

Give voice to goodness!

Celebrate your heart and your spirit.

Celebrate your life while you live it.

Even when it’s hard to do,

celebrate the best of you!

Celebrate your dreams and your visions.

Celebrate the love you’ve been given.

Cherish all that you’ve been through.

Celebrate the best of you!

Invitation to Give

Shared by Linda Johnston

Wisdom from our tradition

tells us each of us must give

as we have made up our

minds, not reluctantly or

under compulsion, for God

loves a cheerful giver.

Friends: let us offer our

resources, our time, our

talents, and our very lives

to God whose love and

grace fills us.

Dedication of Our Offerings

Led by Linda Johnston

With joy in our hearts and upon our lips, O God, we

offer to you our very best: our joy, our faith, our

treasure, our gifts, and our skills. We also offer to

you our doubts, fears, and sorrows, knowing you

transform each of our lives with your love. May these

gifts we offer today be used to bring hope to others.

We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Word About Life                     Matthew 25:14-30 Shared by Pastor Ken

‘For it is as if a man, going on a journey, summoned

his slaves and entrusted his property to them; to one

he gave five talents, to another two, to another one,

to each according to his ability. Then he went away.

The one who had received the five talents went off at

once and traded with them, and made five more

talents. In the same way, the one who had the two

talents made two more talents. But the one who had

received the one talent went off and dug a hole in the

ground and hid his master’s money. After a long time,

the master of those slaves came and settled accounts

with them. Then the one who had received the five

talents came forward, bringing five more talents,

saying, “Master, you handed over to me five talents;

see, I have made five more talents.” His master said

to him, “Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you

have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you

in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your

master.” And the one with the two talents also came

forward, saying, “Master, you handed over to me two

talents; see, I have made two more talents.” His

master said to him, “Well done, good and trustworthy

slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I

will put you in charge of many things; enter into the

joy of your master.” Then the one who had received

the one talent also came forward, saying, “Master, I

knew that you were a harsh man, reaping where you

did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter

seed; so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent

in the ground. Here you have what is yours.” But his

master replied, “You wicked and lazy slave! You

knew, did you, that I reap where I did not sow, and

gather where I did not scatter? Then you ought to

have invested my money with the bankers, and on

my return, I would have received what was my own

with interest. So take the talent from him, and give it

to the one with the ten talents. For to all those who

have, more will be given, and they will have an

abundance; but from those who have nothing, even

what they have will be taken away. As for this

worthless slave, throw him into the outer darkness,

where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

Words For Mission

Led by Linda Johnston

One. The grace of God, deeper than our

imagination; the strength of Christ, stronger

than our need; and the communion of the

Holy Spirit, richer than our togetherness;

guide and sustain us today and in all our

tomorrows. These are the times!

All: We are the people.

One: All of Creation is blessed!

All: May we love all and serve all!

One: May God be with you.

All: And also with you.

One: Amen.

All: Amen.

Sending Forth Song               It’s The Work Of Many Hands

1. One by one we gather here for such a time as this

To celebrate with joyful heart our holy heritage,

People with a mission, anchored in our faith,

Following the Spirit’s call in every time and place.

Chorus

It’s the work of many hands,

It’s the sound of many voices,

It’s the love of many hearts that make a church.

(repeat)

2. Singing, praying, serving now, and speaking from

the heart,

All of us have special gifts that make us who we are.

Hopeful and united as one community,

Growing with each other in God’s human family.

Chorus

3. Keep searching the horizon here for evidence of grace.

The gospel message comes alive when others you

embrace.

So feed the hungry, help the homeless, let your spirits

soar.

Let the love of Jesus Christ live in you more and

more.

Chorus
