Opening Words

Shared by Lois Beberniss

One: Who are we and what are we called to do?

All: We are the sensitive and responsive ones called to create a world where every person is radically affirmed and barriers between people become

bridges of inclusion, justice, and spirituality.

Entry Into Spiritual Community

Led by Linda Pape

One: We are part of all that sustains or destroys life.

Creation and destruction occur in continually

unfolding ways. And so, may we open our ears to

the continually unfolding Word.

All: Life speaks to us in new and vital and

imperative ways.

One: With all the power we have been given, let us be

silent and open to listening...

All: for nourishment, for comfort, for challenge

and new focus.

One: May it be so. Let us sing!

Singing Our Faith ~ Amazing World

Text: Ecumenical Institute

1. This world is not my home, I am a stranger here,

I’ve seen amidst this world, the other world appear,

My life is now transformed though earthly as before,

And I (clap) can’t feel at home in this (clap) world

anymore.

Chorus

Amazing world, the land of mystery

Of consciousness and care and wild tranquility.

My life is now transformed, though earthly as

before,

And I (clap) can’t feel at home in this (clap)

world anymore!

2. A land of mystery assaults on every side

Where death is waiting all and there’s no place to hide.

A yearning floods my life more lonely than before,

And I (clap) can’t feel at home in this (clap) world

anymore.

Chorus

3. The sea is tranquil now, it’s wild in ecstasy,

Refusing my own life, my only enemy,

And joyfully I see that I am weak and poor,

And I (clap) can’t feel at home in this (clap) world

anymore.

Chorus

Opening Prayer ~ Somewhere, Someone

Led by Linda Pape

One: The way of love is coming because:

All: somewhere someone is kind when others are

unkind,

somewhere someone shares with another in

need,

somewhere someone refuses to hate, while

others hate,

somewhere someone is patient - and waits in

love,

somewhere someone returns good for evil,

somewhere someone serves another, in love,

somewhere someone is calm in a storm,

somewhere someone is loving everybody.

One: Spirit of Life and Love, help us to be that someone.

All: Amen.

Celebrations For the Deep Goodness of Life

Music for Thinking of You Cards ~

Shared by Tanner Bayles

In the pew racks are cards with the title “Thinking Of You”. Please use these cards to write a note to someone so they know they are remembered and cared for. Put the card in the offering plate when it comes by, and the church office will forward the cards to the person addressed on the card. This was one of the elements of our time together that you lifted up as important for all of us.

Thank you!

Invitation to Give ~

Shared by Liinda Pape

May our hearts be opened, our hands unclenched,

and our ears unclogged, that we may

feel and touch and taste and see

the breath and play of Creativity God around us.

In our offerings, we share not only measurable treasures of time, talents, and resources, we radically commit ourselves to sharing immeasurable gifts of forgiveness, grace, compassion, acceptance, and loving concern with each other and with ourselves.

In response to our celebrations and the deep goodness of life, our offerings for the celebration of life, in this place and beyond, shall now be received.

Word About Life~

Offered by Rev. Troy Jarvis

Words for Mission

Led by Roy Zaborowski

One: Go as far as your courage takes you,

All: for you cannot go beyond the reach of God.

One: Give as extravagantly as you may,

All: for you cannot spend all the riches of God.

One: Care as lavishly as you are able,

All: for you cannot exhaust the love of God.

One: Keep journeying as a servant,

All: for God will always be with you.

These are the times!

All: We are the people!

One: All of Creation is blessed!

All: May we love all and serve all!

One: God be with you

All: And also with you.

One: Amen.

All: Amen!

Sending Forth Song ~ Trees of the Field

You shall go out with joy and be led forth with peace;

The mountains and the hills will break forth before you.

There’ll be shouts of joy, and all the trees of the field

will clap, will clap their hands.

And all the trees of the field will clap their hands, (clap, clap)

The trees of the field will clap their hands, (clap, clap)

The trees of the field will clap their hands (clap, clap)

While you go out with joy.

(Repeat faster)

Sermon Reboot is ON for today.

This is a time to talk about the message and explore together using the ORID Art Form Conversation methodology. What is ORID? It stands for Observation, Reflection, Interpretation, and Decision. You will get the hang of it.
