Welcome and Announcements

Shared by Pastor Ken

Opening Words

Led by Pastor Ken

One: Who are we and what are we called to do?

All: We are the sensitive and responsive ones called

to create a world where every person is radically

affirmed and barriers between people become

bridges of inclusion, justice, and spirituality.

Call to Worship

Led by Sue Stuart

My dear friends, we have known grief.

We have known loss.

We have known the long road, Ɵred and winding.

We have whispered prayers on bended knees.

We have stared at the sky, empty of stars.

But today— today we know hope.

Today we know life.

Today we know the sound of Alleluias.

Today we know that death does not have the last word. Today we know that nothing can separate us from the love of God.

It is Easter. May hope find you.

And may you know, deep in your bones, that today is a new day.

Alleluia! Amen.

Singing Our Faith ~ Christ the Lord Is Risen Today!

Christ the Lord is risen today, Alleluia!

Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!

Raise your joys and triumphs high, Alleluia!

Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply, Alleluia!

Let the Victor’s people sing, Alleluia!

Where, O death is now your sƟng? Alleluia!

In God’s pow’r we too can live, Alleluia!

Striving now to love and give, Alleluia!

Sharing the Peace

Led by Sue Stuart

One: Let us now celebrate each other. May a heart of peace

rest with you.

All: And also with you.

One: As people who are free, loved, accepted, and future

oriented, greet one another and wish one another

peace!

Musical Interlude Calling Us Back Together ~ Allelu

Allelu! Allelu! Everybody sing Allelu!

For the Lord has risen, it is true.

Everybody sing Allelu!

On the third day he did rise, Allelu, Allelu!

Now he lives no more to die, Alleluia!

Chorus

Now we too can live anew, Allelu, Allelu!

Live in him need all we do, Alleluia!

Chorus

Affirmation of faith In Life

Led by Sue Stuart

One: In the dark before dawn,

All: we believe that God is alive.

One: In the midst of our grief,

All: we believe the Spirit is at work.

One: In the chaos of our broken world,

All: we believe that love is on the loose.

One: For no stone could keep God at bay,

All: and no violence could keep God’s love from us.

One: So today we give, Alleluia!

All: For somewhere in between our belief and doubt,

hope lives.

One: Christ has died, and Christ has also risen.

All: Thanks be to God! Amen.

Celebrations

Music for Thinking of You Cards

In the pew racks are cards with the title “Thinking Of You”. Please use these cards to write a note to someone so they know they are remembered and cared for. Put the card in the offering plate when it comes by and the church office will forward the cards to the person addressed in the card. This was one of the elements of our time together that you lifted up as important for all of us.

Thank you!

Invitation to Give

Led by Sue Stuart

In response to our celebrations and the deep goodness of life, our offerings for the celebration of life, in this place and beyond, shall now be received.

One: If God is a painter,

All: let us be the brush.

One: If God is a musician,

All: let us be the song.

One: God is an architect,

All: let us be the tools.

One: Let us be the hands.

All: Let us be the builders.

One: But if God is a shepherd, who never stops

seeking,

All: let us be willing to be found, no matter how lost we feel.

One: Our God is never far away.

All: Our offering is for sustaining the work that

makes life good for all people. Amen.

Word About Life

Shared by Rev. Ken Heintzelman

Words for Mission

Led by Linda Johnston

One: As you leave this place, may you find God in the messy

middle things of life. May you know that the world is bigger

than two sides. May you trust that you are made in the image of God, and therefore, you contain mulƟtudes. So may you move through this world with an open heart, with a curious mind, and with the confidence that you do not go alone. God is with you in the mountains, in the valleys, and everywhere in between. These are the times!

All: We are the people!

One: All of Creation is blessed!

All: May we love all and serve all!

One: God be with you

All: And also with you.

One: Amen.

All: Amen!

Sending Forth Song ~ Every Morning is Easter Morning

Arr. by David Wo

1. Every morning is Easter morning from now on,

Every day’s resurrection day, the past is over and gone,

Good-bye guilt, good-bye fear, welcome to the sun,

I am one of the Easter people, my new life’s begun.

Chorus

Easter morning can happen every day

When, in all you do, new life breaks through,

Yes, Easter’s here to stay.

2. Every morning is Easter morning from now on,

Every day’s resurrection day, the past is over and gone,

Life is open to us all, haven’t you heard?

Get it straight from the Easter people, get out and

spread the Word.

Chorus

3. Every morning is Easter morning from now on,

Every day’s resurrection day, the past is over and gone,

Share God’s love with everyone,

be the best you can be,

Just be one of the Easter people, live the life that’s free.

Chorus

Ending:

Yes, Eas...ter’s here...to stay!

Sermon Reboot is OFF for today.

This is a time to talk about the message and explore together using the ORID Art Form Conversation methodology. What is ORID? It stands for Observation, Reflection, Interpretation, and Decision. You will get the hang of it.
