Prelude ~

Welcome and Announcements

Shared by Pastor Ken

Opening Words

Led by Pastor Ken

One: Who are we and what are we called to do?

All: We are the sensitive and responsive ones called

to create a world where every person is radically

affirmed and barriers between people become

bridges of inclusion, justice, and spirituality.

Call to Worship

Led by Gene McWhorter

One: Come, all who are thirsty.

All: Come, all who are seeking.

One: Come, all who are waiting.

All: Come, all who labor.

One: Come, all who need rest.

All: Come, all who dream dreams.

One: Come—whether you’re young or old,

confident or curious, lonely or hopeful.

All: This is Shadow Rock where the Spirit

of Life and Love moves among us. All

are welcome here. Let us sing our

welcome.

Singing Our Faith

~ There Is Room For All

There is room for all

in the shadow of God's wing;

there is room for all,

sheltered in God's love.

And I rejoice and sing, My refuge

and my rock in whom I trust.

There is room for all,

there is room for all.

Celebrations and Celebration Song

Led by Pastor Ken

At this time, we share moments from our lives: birthdays,

anniversaries, and words of peace and justice. We celebrate

sorrows and grief as part of our comprehensive view of life.

Give voice to goodness!

Celebrate your heart and your spirit.

Celebrate your life while you live it.

Even when it’s hard to do,

celebrate the best of you!

Celebrate your dreams and your visions.

Celebrate the love you’ve been given.

Cherish all that you’ve been through.

Celebrate the best of you!

Invitation to Give

Led by Pastor Ken

In response to our celebrations and the deep goodness of life, our offerings for the

celebration of life, in this place and beyond, shall now be

received.

Dedication of Our Offerings

Led by Robert Back

We bring these gifts to God and the world as

an act of our faith, as an act of our power, and

an act of justice believing that only love can

heal and unite. We know God’s work is being

done through us. May these gifts provide for

the work that is being done and for the work

that is yet to be done. Amen

Word About Life For Today

Shared by Pastor Ken

The Spirit of Life and Love shall cover thee with

their feathers, and under their wings you can trust

and not be afraid. The truth of love shall be our

shield that we can take with us anywhere. Psalms 91:4

In Matthew 23:37-39, we find Jesus' lament over

Jerusalem. He says: “How often have I

desired to gather your children together as a hen

gathers her brood under her wings, and you were

not willing.”

Words For Mission

Led by Gene McWhorter

One: As you leave this place, may you be

awestruck by the beauty of this world.

May you laugh, and may it be contagious.

May you overflow with love for those around

you.

May you be effusive with hope and quick to

point out joy.

All: And in all of our living, and breathing,

and being, may we find ourselves full to

the brim with God’s Spirit of Life and

Love, and may it change our lives.

One: In the name of the Lover, the Beloved, and

Love itself— go in peace, full to the brim.

These are the times!

All: We are the people!

One: All of Creation is blessed.

All: May we love all and serve all.

One: May God be with you.

All: And also with you.

One: Amen.

All: Amen.

Singing Our Faith ~ It’s The Work Of Many Hands

1. One by one we gather here for such a time as this

To celebrate with joyful heart our holy heritage,

People with a mission, anchored in our faith,

Following the Spirit’s call in every time and place.

It’s the work of many hands,

It’s the sound of many voices,

It’s the love of many hearts that make a

church. (repeat)

2. Singing, praying, serving now, and speaking from

the heart,

All of us have special gifts that make us who we are.

Hopeful and united as one community,

Growing with each other in God’s human family.

Chorus

3. Keep searching the horizon here for evidence of

grace.

The gospel message comes alive when others you

embrace.

So feed the hungry, help the homeless, let your

spirits soar.

Let the love of Jesus Christ live in you more and

more.

Chorus

Sermon Reboot is OFF for today.

This is a time to talk about the message and explore together using the ORID Art Form Conversation methodology. What is ORID? It stands for Observation, Reflection, Interpretation, and Decision. You will get the hang of it.
