Welcome and Announcements

· June 22 Blood drive

· June 22nd Congregational Meeting

· June 29th Sabbath Send Off and Potluck

Opening Words

One: Who are we and what are we called to do?

All: We are the sensitive and responsive

ones called to create a world where

every person is radically affirmed

and barriers between people become

bridges of inclusion, justice, and

spirituality.

Entry into Spiritual Community

Liturgist: Linda Pape

One: Today we will consider many aspects of Sabbath Embracing—

All: Embracing with our hearts and minds means making choices.

One: Embracing means making different choices from the ones we usually make.

All: Let us choose to embrace time over space.

One: We embrace giving instead of requiring.

All: We embrace our calling in life over our

occupations.

One: We embrace the wholeness of God’s shalom

over the fractured peacekeeping of human

striving.

All: We embrace the world.

One: We embrace our place in the universe over

our roles in society.

All: Our Sabbath Time is coming!

Singing Our Faith ~ Circle of Friends

by Jim Manley

1. Come and sit together in a circle of friends

Be at home, be at peace, be at rest.

Come and sit together in a circle of friends,

Sitting in a circle is best.

Laugh (echo), cry (echo), live (echo), die (echo),

Hello (echo), goodbye (echo),

And God make us a circle of friends.

2. People in the wilderness feel lost and walk alone.

Come to us, hear the Word, be at rest.

Three fires in the clearing,

and the voices you are hearing

Is the singing of a circle of friends.

Chorus

3. Ceasing from our routine is a Sabbath in itself;

Stop our work, catch our breath, be at rest.

Renewal of our spirits gives us strength to do our

best.

Keeping Sabbath with friends is best.

Chorus

4. Embracing with our hearts and minds is power

to renew;

Change our ways, embrace time, embrace rest.

Will you let the Sabbath do some kind of work in

you?

Keeping Sabbath with friends is best.

Chorus

Celebrations For the Deep Goodness of Life

Led by Pastor Ken

Music for Thinking of You Cards

Shared by Tanner Bayles and JAM (Improv)

In the pew racks are cards with the title “Thinking Of You”. Please use these cards to write a note to someone so they know they are remembered and cared for. Put the card in the offering plate when it comes by, and the church office will forward the cards to the person addressed on the card. This was one of the elements of our time together that you lifted up as important for all of us.

Thank you!

Invitation to Give ~ The Flutterby

Shared by Linda Pape

In our offerings, we share not only measurable treasures of time, talents, and resources, we radically commit ourselves to sharing immeasurable gifts of forgiveness, grace, compassion, acceptance, and loving concern with each other and with ourselves.

In response to our celebrations and the deep goodness of life, our offerings for the celebration of life, in this place and beyond, shall now be received.

The Presentation and Dedication of Our    Offering

Led by Chelsea Gaberdiel

One: By our smallest actions, we become part of a bigger world. The smallest gift can be an

expression of the good spirit of generosity and caring.

All: May we and these gifts be used to build a foundation of inclusion, justice and spirituality. Amen.

Word About Life~ Isaiah 56:1-6

Shared by Pastor Ken

Thus says the Lord:

Maintain justice, and do what is right,

for soon my salvation will come,

and my deliverance be revealed.

Happy is the mortal who does this,

the one who holds it fast,

who keeps the Sabbath, not profaning it,

and refrains from doing any evil.

Do not let the foreigner joined to the Lord say,

‘The Lord will surely separate me from

his people’; and do not let the eunuch say,

‘I am just a dry tree.’

Singing Our Faith ~ The Ceaseless Flow of Time

(Tune: In Christ There is No East or West)

The ceaseless flow of endless time

No one can check or stay;

We'll view the past with no regret,

Nor future with dismay.

God’s Newest Thrust In History

Word About Life Isaiah 56:1-6

Thus says the Lord:

Maintain justice, and do what is right,

for soon my salvation will come,

and my deliverance be revealed.

Happy is the mortal who does this,

the one who holds it fast,

who keeps the Sabbath, not profaning it,

and refrains from doing any evil.

Do not let the foreigner joined to the Lord say,

‘The Lord will surely separate me from

his people’; and do not let the eunuch say,

‘I am just a dry tree.’

The present slips into the past,

And dream-like melts away;

The breaking of tomorrow's dawn

Begins a new today.

The past and future ever meet

In the eternal now:

To make each day a thing complete

Shall be our Sabbath vow (JStorey).

Words for Mission

Led by Linda Pape

One:   Where all life on earth is cherished, there opens for us another way to live.

All: Where a child may grow in safety,

where there's peace and shelter,

One: when we hold the fragile planet in our conscious care, when we see again as sacred all we are and share, we find rest.

All: May God’s breath stream within us.

One: These are the times!

All: We are the people!

One: All of Creation is blessed!

All: May we love all and serve all!

One: God be with you

All: And also with you.

One: Amen.

All: Amen!
