We gather at 9:00 am in the Multipurpose Room. Expect a warm welcome and grace-filled discussion about spirituality. For a brief season we are asking is Jesus a political person?

You can find us in the Blue Room! Look for signs and friendly faces as you enter the education building. For children under 4, Amy and Jaian are ready for you in the Red Room. Sunday mornings are time for fun and connection.

Prelude ~ O For A Thousand Tongues to Sing

Shared by Christine Kyhn

Welcome and Announcements

Pastor Ken

Opening Words

Led by Pastor Ken

One: Who are we and what are we called to do?

All: We are the sensitive and responsive ones called

to create a world where every person is radically

affirmed and barriers between people become

bridges of inclusion, justice, and spirituality.

Call to Worship

Led by Judy Schwiebert

One: Come and gather in God’s presence.

All: God blesses us with gifts beyond what we deserve.

One: All God asks is that we make the blessings of life, love, and freedom to grow. And so may our gratitude deepen…

All: Until our hearts are moved and the love of God flows through us freely: In offerings of generosity. One: In ways of healing. In acts of love and justice. All: Then we will know the joy of Life and Love.

Singing Our Faith ~ All Are Welcome

Let us build a house where love can dwell

      and all can safely live.

A place where saints and children tell

How hearts learn to forgive.

Built of hopes and dreams and visions,

Rock of faith and vault of grace.

Here the love of Christ shall end divisions:

All are welcome, all are welcome,

All are welcome in this place.

Let us build a house where hands will reach

   beyond the wood and stone.

To heal and strengthen, serve and teach,

And live the Word they’ve known.

Here the outcast and the stranger bear the image

   of God’s face.

Let us bring an end to fear and danger.

All are welcome, all are welcome,

All are welcome in this place.

Let us build a house where all are named,

          their songs and visions heard.

And loved and treasured taught and claimed

As words within the Word.

Built of tears and cries and laughter,

Prayers of faith and songs of grace.

Let the house proclaim from floor to rafter:

All are welcome, all are welcome,

All are welcome in this place.

Celebrations and Celebration Song

Led by A WISE Team Member

At this time, we share moments from our lives: birthdays,

anniversaries, and words of peace and justice. We celebrate

sorrows and grief as part of our comprehensive view of life.

Give voice to goodness!

Celebrate your heart and your spirit.

Celebrate your life while you live it.

Even when it’s hard to do,

celebrate the best of you!

Celebrate your dreams and your visions.

Celebrate the love you’ve been given.

Cherish all that you’ve been through.

Celebrate the best of you!

Invitation to Give

Shared by Judy Schwiebert

As we come to this time for gratitude and generosity, what is it that we gather as we give? We gather good will; we gather hope; we gather love and healing and grace. And when all of these things are gathered up, and drawn near, the blessing of God fills us up and others too…and the world is changed for the better. Like the servants who gathered up the gifts of the Master and helped them to grow, we too are called to make God’s blessings grow through our generosity.

And know this, that your generosity gathers—it gathers people to you, it gathers a force for good in the world, it gathers a love that flows with a great will in the world to extend God’s grace beyond these walls. This is no small thing, but lovely and precious. Give thanks for the ministry God has entrusted into our care and for each other, and know, beloved, that your faithful service makes a difference.

Offerings and Offertory ~  I Surrender All

Dedication of Our Offerings

Led by Judy Schwiebert

God of our living, who rounds our days in love and grace and mercy, bless us and the offerings of gratitude we make for this life and for the calling you have faithfully placed in our care. Turn our gratitude into praise and even more, into generosity, a pouring out of your blessing into this world that needs your love and mercy now and forevermore. Amen.

Word About Life                     Matthew 25:14-30 Shared by Pastor Ken

‘For it is as if a man, going on a journey, summoned

his slaves and entrusted his property to them; to one

he gave five talents, to another two, to another one,

to each according to his ability. Then he went away.

The one who had received the five talents went off at

once and traded with them, and made five more

talents. In the same way, the one who had the two

talents made two more talents. But the one who had

received the one talent went off and dug a hole in the

ground and hid his master’s money. After a long time,

the master of those slaves came and settled accounts

with them. Then the one who had received the five

talents came forward, bringing five more talents,

saying, “Master, you handed over to me five talents;

see, I have made five more talents.” His master said

to him, “Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you

have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you

in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your

master.” And the one with the two talents also came

forward, saying, “Master, you handed over to me two

talents; see, I have made two more talents.” His

master said to him, “Well done, good and trustworthy

slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I

will put you in charge of many things; enter into the

joy of your master.” Then the one who had received

the one talent also came forward, saying, “Master, I

knew that you were a harsh man, reaping where you

did not sow, and gathering where you did not scatter

seed; so I was afraid, and I went and hid your talent

in the ground. Here you have what is yours.” But his

master replied, “You wicked and lazy slave! You

knew, did you, that I reap where I did not sow, and

gather where I did not scatter? Then you ought to

have invested my money with the bankers, and on

my return, I would have received what was my own

with interest. So take the talent from him, and give it

to the one with the ten talents. For to all those who

have, more will be given, and they will have an

abundance; but from those who have nothing, even

what they have will be taken away. As for this

worthless slave, throw him into the outer darkness,

where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
