GATHERING IN THE SPIRIT’S PRESENCE
Centering Affirmation: How do you "catch your breath"?
Welcome and Announcements
Led by Pastor Ken
Opening Words
One: Who are we and what are we called to do?
All: We are the sensitive and responsive ones
called to create a world where every person
is radically affirmed and barriers between
people become bridges of inclusion, justice,
and spirituality.
Call to Worship and Singing Our Faith based on a poem by Judy Chicago
Led by Barbara Zaborowski
(Please stand in body, mind, or spirit)
One: And then all that has divided us will merge
All: And then compassion will be wedded to power
One: And then softness will come to a world that is
harsh and unkind
All: And then both men and women will be gentle
One: And then both women and men will be strong
All: And then no person will be subject to another's
will
One: And then all will be rich and free and varied
All: And then the greed of some will give way to the needs of many
One: And then all will share equally in the Earth's abundance
All: And then all will care for the sick and the weak
and the old
One: And then all will nourish the young
All: And then all will cherish life's creatures
One: And then all will live in harmony with each other
and the Earth
And then everywhere will be called Eden once
again.
All: And then everyone can sing!
One: What a good idea!
Singing Our Faith ~ Come to The Water
by Ray Makeever
All who are thirsty for justice,
all who are thirsty for peace.
All who are thirsty for peace, for justice, come,
come to the water of life.
All who are thirsty for mercy,
all who are thirsty for love.
All who are thirsty for love, for mercy, come,
come to the water of life.
All who are thirsty for healing,
all who are thirsty for touch.
All who are thirsty for touch, for healing, come,
come to the water of life.
All who are thirsty for beauty,
all who are thirsty for truth.
All who are thirsty for truth, for beauty, come,
come to the water of life.
All who are thirsty for freedom,
all who are thirsty for hope.
All who are thirsty for hope, for freedom, come,
come to the water of life.
All who are thirsty for laughter,
all who are thirsty for joy..
All who are thirsty for joy, for laughter, come,
come to the water of life.
