Prelude ~ Great Is Thy Faithfulness

Shared by Christine Kyhn

Welcome and Announcements

Shared by Pastor Ken

~ Today is Potluck

~ August 17 at 9 AM Spiritual Play Begins

Opening Words

One: Who are we and what are we called to do?

All: We are the sensitive and responsive ones called to create a world where every person is radically affirmed and barriers between people become

bridges of inclusion, justice, and spirituality.

Singing Our Welcome There is Room For All

There is room for all in the shadow of God’s wing

There is room for all sheltered in God’s love

And I rejoice and sing,

“My refuge and my rock in whom I trust.”

There is room for all, there is room for all.

(three times)

Entry into Spiritual Community

Liturgist: Roy Zaborowski

One: Life sets before us many choices: blessings and curses, life and death.

All: Discernment is the way we choose our path!

One: May our work together and our shared values help us choose wisely and lovingly.

All: As we greet one another, may our hearts swell with gratitude for the gift of community.

One: Let us sing as a sign of God’s presence among us.

Singing Our Faith ~ Free To Be You and Me

There’s a land that I see where the children are free.

And I say it ain’t far to this land from where we are.

Take my hand, come with me where the children are free Come with me, take my hand, and we’ll live…

In a land where the river runs free.

In a land through the green country.

In a land to a shining sea.

In a land where the horses run free.

And you and me are free to be, you and me.

I see a land, bright and clear and the time’s comin’ near When we’ll live in this land, you and me, hand in hand.

Take my hand, come along, lend your voice to my song. Come along, take my hand, sing a song...

Chorus

Music for Thinking of You Cards ~ For Good

Shared by Christine Kyhn

For Good from “Wicked” by Stephen Schwartz

In the pew racks are cards with the title “Thinking Of You”. Please use these cards to write a note to someone so they know they are remembered and cared for. Put the card in the offering plate when it comes by, and the church office will forward the cards to the person addressed on the card. This was one of the elements of our time together that you lifted up as important for all of us.

Thank you!

Invitation to Give ~

Shared by Roy Zaborowski

One: As one heart is lifted

All: May we share its celebration.

One: As one heart is burdened

All: May we share the pain it knows.

One: As one Body, share ourselves through our

offerings.

In our offerings, we share not only measurable treasures of time, talents, and resources, we radically commit ourselves to sharing immeasurable gifts of forgiveness, grace, compassion, acceptance, and loving concern with each other and with ourselves.

In response to our celebrations and the deep goodness of life, our offerings for the celebration of life, in this place and beyond, shall now be received.

Word About Life~

Shared by Pastor Ken

Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the road is easy that leads to destruction, and there are many who take it. For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Words for Mission

Led by Roy Zaborowski

One: In sharing this time of singing and praying together, and in the proclamation of the Word About Life, we renew our Covenant with the Sacred, with all Creation, and with one another.

All: We commit ourselves to walk gently upon this planet, to raise our voice in the service of life, to love kindness, and to seek justice.

One: These are the times!

All: We are the people!

One: All of Creation is blessed!

All: May we love all and serve all!

One: God be with you

All: And also with you.

One: Amen.

All: Amen!

Sending Forth Song ~ Till All My People Are One

by Ray Repp

Chorus

Stand together for what you believe.

Work for what must be done.

Love each other in all that you do

Till all my people are one.

1. Spread the peace, my people, spread it ev’rywhere.

Make the world know right from wrong;

Help the world to care.

Chorus

2. Cry out the sound of freedom,

Make every sound be heard.

People crying painfully,

Hear their every word.

Chorus

3. Open your hearts, my friends, lend a willing hand;

Show the lonely and the poor that God is in our land.

Chorus

4. Sing out the joy of living,

Sing your song on high.

The truth of life is that we are born to live not die.

Chorus

5. Know that God is with us in everything we do;

Though hard times may lie ahead,

Peace will follow through.

Chorus

Stand together for what you believe.

Work for what must be done.

Love each other in all that you do

Till all my people are one.

Ending: Till all my people are one.
