Prelude ~

Welcome and Announcements

Opening Words

Led by Pastor Ken

One: Who are we and what are we called to do?

All: We are the sensitive and responsive ones called

to create a world where every person is radically

affirmed and barriers between people become

bridges of inclusion, justice, and spirituality.

Call to Celebration

Led by Marilyn Rampley

One: Come in. Come into this place which we

make special by our presence.

All: Come into this place, where the ordinary

is sanctified, the human is celebrated,

the compassionate is expected.

One: Come into this place.

All: Together we make it a sacred place.

Singing Our Faith

~ Gather Us In

by Marty Haugen

1. Here in this place a new light is streaming,

Now is the darkness vanished away,

See in this space our fears and our dreamings

Brought here to you in the light of this day.

Gather us in, the lost and forsaken,

Gather us in, the blind and the lame.

Call to us now, and we shall awaken;

We shall arise at the sound of our name.

2. We are the young, our lives are a myst’ry,

We are the old who yearn for your face.

We have been sung throughout all of hist’ry,

Called to be light to the whole human race.

Gather us in, the rich and the haughty.

Gather us in, the proud and the strong.

Give us a heart so meek and so lowly;

Give us the courage to enter the song.

3. Not in the dark of buildings confining,

Not in some heaven, light years away,

But here in this place, the new light is shining,

Now is the Kingdom, now is the day.

Gather us in and hold us forever.

Gather us in and make us your own;

Gather us in all peoples together,

Fire of love in our flesh and our bones.

Celebrations and Celebration Song

Led by Pastor Ken

At this time, we share moments from our lives: birthdays,

anniversaries, and words of peace and justice. We celebrate

sorrows and grief as part of our comprehensive view of life.

Give voice to goodness!

Celebrate your heart and your spirit.

Celebrate your life while you live it.

Even when it’s hard to do, celebrate the best of you!

Celebrate your dreams and your visions.

Celebrate the love you’ve been given.

Cherish all that you’ve been through.

Celebrate the best of you!

Invitation to Give

Led by Marilyn Rampley

Together we are prophetic voices in our community

for this moment in our common story. Let us gather

our gifts together in our offerings.

In response to our celebrations and the deep goodness of life, our offerings for the

celebration of life, in this place and beyond, shall now be

received.

Word About Life For Today I Corinthians 9:16-23

Shared by Pastor Ken

If I proclaim the gospel, this gives me no ground

for boasting, for an obligation is laid on me, and

woe to me if I do not proclaim the gospel! For if I

do this of my own will, I have a reward; but if not

of my own will, I am entrusted with a commission.

What then is my reward? Just this: that in my

proclamation I may make the gospel free of charge,

so as not to make full use of my rights in the

gospel. For though I am free with respect to all, I

have made myself a slave to all, so that I might win

more of them. To the Jews I became as a Jew, in

order to win Jews. To those under the law I became

as one under the law (though I myself am not

under the law) so that I might win those under the

law. To those outside the law I became as one

outside the law (though I am not free from God's

law but am under Christ's law) so that I might win

those outside the law. To the weak I became weak,

so that I might win the weak. I have become all

things to all people, that I might by all means

save some. I do it all for the sake of the gospel, so

that I may share in its blessings.

Words For Mission

Led by Marilyn Rampley

One: Now, take the Word About Life into the world.

All: We will place hope in the arms of others.

One: Now, take the power of love into the world.

All: We will serve beside each other in all the

broken places.

One: Now, take the Spirit of Life and Compassion

into the world.

All: We will bring others near to the kin-dom

where all are welcome.

One: These are the times!

All: We are the people!

One: All of Creation is blessed.

All: May we love all and serve all.

One: May God be with you.

All: And also with you.

One: Amen.

All: Amen.

Singing Our Faith~ It’s The Work of Many Hands

One by one we gather here for such a time as this

To celebrate with joyful heart our holy heritage,

People with a mission, anchored in our faith,

Following the Spirit’s call in every time and place.

Chorus

It’s the work of many hands,

It’s the sound of many voices,

It’s the love of many hearts that make a

world. (repeat)

Singing, praying, serving now, and speaking from

the heart,

All of us have special gifts that make us who we are,

Hopeful and united as one community,

Growing with each other in God’s human family.

Chorus

Keep searching the horizon here for evidence of

grace.

The healing message comes alive when others you

embrace.

So feed the hungry, help the homeless, let your

spirits soar.

Let the love for everyone live in you more and more.

Chorus

Sermon Reboot is OFF for today.

This is a time to talk about the message and explore together using the ORID Art Form Conversation methodology. What is ORID? It stands for Observation, Reflection, Interpretation, and Decision. You will get the hang of it.
