Prelude ~

Shared by Travis Meyers

WELCOME! Thanks for making Shadow Rock your chosen

spiritual family.

GATHERING IN THE SPIRIT’S PRESENCE

Centering Affirmation: Does who we are match up with what people say about us?

Welcome and Announcements

Led by Pastor Ken

Opening Words

One: Who are we and what are we called to do?

All: We are the sensitive and responsive ones

called to create a world where every person

is radically affirmed and barriers between

people become bridges of inclusion, justice,

and spirituality.

Call to Worship and Singing Our Faith

Led by Judy Schwiebert

One: Let us acknowledge the awesome mystery embodied in every person.

All: Through us, God comes to unique and personal expression.

One: Let us give thanks for the diversity and abundance of life on this earth.

All: Through it, we and all people may be nourished.

Singing Our Faith

~ All Are Welcome

Led by Cindy Gattorna

Let us build a house

Where love can dwell

And all can safely live

A place where Saints and children tell

How hearts learn to forgive

Built of hopes and dreams and visions

Rock of faith and vault of grace

Here the love of Christ shall end divisions

All are welcome, all are welcome

All are welcome in this place

Let us build a house where prophets speak

And words are strong and true

Where all God's children dare to seek

To dream God's reign anew

Here the cross shall stand as witness

And a symbol of God's grace

Here as one we claim the faith of Jesus

All are welcome, all are welcome

All are welcome in this place

Let us build a house where love is found

In water, wine and wheat

A banquet hall on holy ground

Where peace and justice meet

Here the love of God, through Jesus

Is revealed in time and space

As we share in Christ the feast that frees us

All are welcome, all are welcome

All are welcome in this place

Welcoming Prayer in Unison

Led by Judy Schwiebert

Steadfast God, you visit us in our aloneness but we express you best in our togetherness. Empower us to the upbuilding of that quality of fellowship which is a true expression of your love in the world. Amen.

Celebrations

Led by Lois Beberniss

This is our time to share the celebrations of our lives:

birthdays, anniversaries, words of kindness and works of

peace and justice.

We celebrate joys, sorrows, and grief as part of our

comprehensive view of life.

This is our time to give voice to goodness!

Special Music for Thinking of You Cards

Shared by Justin Rollefson

In the pew racks are cards with the title “Thinking Of You”. Please use these cards to write a note to someone so they know they are remembered and cared for. Put the card in the offering plate when it comes by and the church office will forward the cards to the person you addressed in the card. This was one of the elements of our time together you lifted up as important for all of us. Thank you!

In response to our celebrations and the deep goodness of life, our offerings for the

celebration of life, in this place and beyond, shall now be

received.

Invitation to Rededicate Ourselves to The More of Life Shared by Judy Schwiebert

We prepare ourselves for experiencing the act of giving of ourselves and our offerings with the reading of this reflection.

Reflection ~ "Making Sacred" By Stephen M. Schick

Shared by Judy Schwiebert

Here we have gathered the elements of our lives.

Aware and unaware,

we have carried them to this place:

the joy of waking and living,

the pleasure found in meaningful work,

the blush of health,

the pain of illness,

the grief of loss,

and the gift of love.

Some of these we have carried a long way.

Some have bent our backs

until our eyes could no longer see the horizon.

Some have carried us upward with purpose,

feathered wing in flight.

All we have carried through the seasons of our lives

has brought us here to this place

we make sacred by our coming together

and reciting these gathering words:

Come, you are welcome here.

All: We offer them for the good of our neighbors, our communities, and our world.

Singing Our Faith~ When I’m On My Journey

1. When I’m on my journey there is no one there but me, When I’m on my journey there is no one there but me,

When I’m on my journey there is no one there but me, Lord, I know there is no one there but me.

2. When I’m on my journey I am one with family . . .

3. When I’m on my journey spirit colleagues there will be.

4. When I’m on my journey I will bend all history . . .

Word About Life ~

Shared by Cindy Gattorna

A child sounds the chime to help us enter into space with the Spirit for the purpose of focusing on the present moment.

Sisters and Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. Philippians 3:13

Words For Mission

Led by Judy Schwiebert

One: As the spirit teaches inwardly, may we involve ourselves in the grander issues of life.

All: May we engage those issues which make a compelling difference and create the good life for all humanity.

One: These are the times!

All: We are the people!

One: All of Creation is blessed.

All: May we love all and serve all.

One: May God be with you.

All: And also with you.

One: Amen.

All: Amen.

EMPOWERING AND SENDING

Sending Forth Song ~ We Are Building A New Way

By Martha Sandefer

We are building a new way.

We are building a new way.

We are building a new way, feeling stronger every day,

We are building a new way.

We are working to be free.

We are working to be free.

We are working to be free of hate and greed and jealousy. We are working to be free.

We can feed our every need.

We can feed our every need.

We can feed our every need. Start with love, that is the seed.

We can feed our every need.

Peace and freedom is our cry.

Peace and freedom is our cry.

Peace and freedom is our cry, without these this world will die.

Peace and freedom is our cry.

Thank you for being with us!

Sermon Reboot is ON for today.

This is a time to talk about the message and explore together using the ORID Art Form Conversation methodology. What is ORID? It stands for Observation, Reflection, Interpretation, and Decision. You will get the hang of it.
