Sixth graders in Mrs. Karen Ray's art classes began working on a mindful art project today known as neurography. This creative drawing process helps students to realize that art does not always require experience or skills and can be a wonderful way to reduce stress and anxiety. Tomorrow, the students will add paint to their drawings. #handsonlearning #mindfulness #creativity #westfieldart #educationofmindandheart

Fifth graders in Mrs. Traci Shipp’s library enrichment class listened to her reading of Those Shoes by Maribeth Boelts, a powerful story of empathy and compassion about a young boy who learns the difference between “needs” and “wants”. An interactive read-aloud helps students to not only engage in listening but also in talking about and discussing the main points of the book together. #interactivelearning #reading #educationofmindandheart
During this week's Wednesday assembly, Middle and Upper School students heard a powerful message from Willie "Freight Train" Raines about the amazing work of Christ in our lives and the importance of living our lives for Him. Thank you, Willis Raines, for sharing the Gospel and encouraging our students to amidst the trials and tribulations we face in our lives that God is always in control. #WednesdayWisdom #educationofmindandheart
