We’re in the final stretch of our Nurturing Growth Through Play Annual Fund campaign, and we need your help to reach our school-wide participation goal of 83%+ by October 25th! Right now, we’re at 53 percent participation and have raised $134,215.99 toward our $500,000 goal. With your continued support, we can transform the Lower School playground into an exciting space where our children can learn, play, and grow together.

Here’s how your gifts to the 2024-2025 Annual Fund will make a difference:

  • New Cushioned Surfacing: Replacing the old pea gravel with cushioned surfacing.
  • Exciting New Play Features: Adding friendship swings, fly-winner spinners, domes, oodle swings, and we-saws.
  • Updated Playground Fence: Ensuring long-term safety and durability.
  • Enhanced Belted Swings: Including cushioned surfacing for extra safety.
  • Outdoor Classroom Under the Big Tree: Creating a shaded area with stumps for outdoor learning and hangout spots.
  • Smart Play Structure: Promoting physical development and strategic thinking, with features like a belt bridge, double swoosh slide, Fire Pole, tight rope, and more.
  • Ninja Warrior-Style Play Area: Featuring spider walk walls, jump hang cargo netting, balance beams, rope climbs, and more to encourage active play.

February 22, 2025

We are excited to announce The Westfield School’s inaugural Tasting Celebration, an exclusive event taking place on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at the beautiful Southern Bridle Farms.

For the first time, we are bringing together our community for an evening of food, drinks, and fun, featuring samples from some of the area's finest local restaurants and hospitality vendors. Guests will also enjoy live entertainment from Derrek Dove & the Peacekeepers and have the opportunity to bid on unique items in our silent auction, all while mingling with Westfield parents and supporters.

As a business affiliated with or owned by Westfield families, we are offering first access to participate in this exciting event. If you or someone you know owns a restaurant, bakery, catering company, wine distributor, specialty shop, or any other food establishment, we invite you to join the Tasting Celebration as a vendor. Spots are limited to 15 vendors, and with up to 350 attendees expected, this is a fantastic opportunity to introduce your brand to a vibrant, engaged community eager to experience the best local cuisine.

Tickets will go live for purchase next Friday, October 25th, on the school's website events tab.

If you would like to contribute to the silent auction, please see the link below for more information. Your in-kind donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law, and sponsorship opportunities are also available. Be a part of this special evening while supporting The Westfield School.

Second grade has been reading one of their favorite books - Charlotte’s Web by E. B. White. Today, Mrs. Tonya Hair’s class is working in groups to research the different types of spiders. #westfieldsecondgrade

In addition to reading Charlotte's Web, our second graders have learned so much about our great state of Georgia! They researched Georgia industries, tourist attractions, agriculture, and more about our state to write reports and create poster to present to their fellow classmates. #learningaboutGeorgia #westfieldsecondgrade #educationofmindandheart

Our third graders celebrated their Acclerated Reader (AR) success at Byron Park. Congratulations to all of our third graders and to these students who won top awards: Luke Hulbert, 1st; James Gurley, 2nd; Thatcher Freeman, 3rd; Anne Marie Rigdon, 4th; and Knox Braun, 5th and Best Comprehension. We are Westfield proud of these super readers! #acceleratedreader #westfieldthirdgrade #ARcelebration

Fifth grade spent the day learning about wildlife conversation and fishing during their visit to the Go Fish Education Center. They even had a chance to fish in the catch & release pond! #learningoutsidetheclassroon #westfieldfifthgrade

Spanish III students in Mrs. Marissa Ellis's classes practiced using formal plural commands by writing directions for their classmates to several destinations around campus, one of them being "The Big Tree." #westfieldforeignlanguage #educationofmindandheart

Upper School students in Mr. Shane Hall’s freshman world history class practiced a Socratic seminar in class to discuss their reading of Persian Fire by Tom Holland. Socratic seminar discussions challenge students to read and think critically and collaboratively. #interactivelearning #educationofmindandheart

Eighth graders in Mrs. DJ Blalock’s art class are creating art for the Flint Energies Imagine That middle school art contest. The contest theme is community pride, and students are asked to draw what they love about their hometown! We can’t wait to see their work! #westfieldart

Our Lower School chorus, directed by Mrs. Lea Rogers, sang for our October Faithful Friday Lower School assembly. We hope you will take a few minutes to listen to these sweet voices reminding us of how blessed we are to have a faithful God who loves us and provides for us. Thank you also to Drew Cook and Seth Green from Southside Warner Robins for speaking at our Lower School assembly. Through engaging skits and activities, they shared 1 Samuel 16:7, reminding the students that God looks at our hearts and not at our outward appearance. They encouraged the students to have respect and to show respect for others. #LowerSchoolchorus #educationofmindandheart #faithfulfriday

Thank you to senior Hillary Fowler for sharing her faith publicly at tonight’s Flint River FCA Fields of Faith!

Our Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) meets for breakfast monthly before school. Thank you to Tracy Mays, pastor of Browndale Baptist Church in Hawkinsville and chaplain for our varsity football team, for speaking at our FCA breakfast this morning. He spoke about guarding your heart and making the choices that are pleasing to Him. #educationofmindandheart Flint River FCA

Our Lady Hornets softball team is in the ELITE EIGHT and headed to Columbus today! Opening ceremonies began at 9 am, and Westfield plays Tiftarea at 12 noon and Pinewood Christian at 4 pm. Good luck, Lady Hornets!! #westfieldsoftball

Good luck to our varsity cross country team in the Region Championship meet this afternoon! Go Hornet XC!!

Congratulations to our Middle School clay target shooting team for a great day of competition in the GIAA Middle School End of Season Invitational held October 24th at the Forest City Gun Club in Savannah. The meet comprised of 100 Sporting Clay Targets, 50 Skeet, and 50 Trap. Bryce Barker placed sixth in Sporting Clays. Easton Neil demonstrated grit and determination, competing with his arm in a sling, nursing an injury sustained playing football for the school, the night before. Yet still he engaged 200 targets. This was a high intensity, without breaks, experience for all. Very well done! #westfieldclaytargetshooting
