One of our favorite Westfield traditions is second grade’s reading of a children’s literature classic, Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. They celebrated reading the book with a Fall Carnival celebration, dressing up as their favorite characters - Fern, Templeton, the Zuckermans, Wilburn, and Charlotte, of course! Such a sweet and special way to encourage friendship! #Westfieldsecondgrade #Westfieldtraditions #reading #friendship #educationofmindandheart

Students in Mrs. Stephanie Black's 6th grade math class worked in "surgical" teams, performing their order of operations correctly for their "patients' surgeries" to be successful! #makingmathfun #collaborativelearning #interactivelearning #OrderOfOperations #westfieldsixthgrade #educationofmindandheart

AP Environmental Science students conducted a series of chemical and physical tests to discern the nutrient and water-holding properties of soil. During the lab, they tested chemical nutrients, percolation rate, and soil texture, all related to agricultural productivity and crop selection. #handsonlearning #collaborativelearning #APscience #educationofmindandheart

Students in Mr. John McClellan’s Sophomore English class are practicing public forum debates over the topic of border crossings and border surveillance. #collaborativelearning #educationofmindandheart"

Upper School students in Ms. Ashley Bentley's Honors Biology class conducted a diffusion lab to determine whether or not substances are able to diffuse through a cell membrane. The students used a plastic bag to model a semi-permeable membrane and processed solutions of water, iodine, and corn starch to view diffusion and record data. #handsonlearning #biologylab #westfieldscience #educationofmindandheart

Art I students in Mrs. DJ Blalock’s class are creating monochromatic self-portraits with paint. The students took a posterized photo of themselves, chose a color, and then created tints and shades from that color to complete the image. We think these are pretty neat! #westfieldart #educationofmindandheart

Seventh graders in Mrs. Lauren Mann’s choral music class are putting pencil to paper today. The students are working on a score analysis to examine and understand the musical piece’s structure, components, and elements such as harmony, melody, and rhythm. #westfieldmusic #handsonlearning #educationofmindandheart

Congratulations to eighth grader Jake Sloan who was recognized as a Student of the Month by the Perry Rotary Club. We are Westfield proud! #buildingleaders

Adeline and Brant are outstanding students and leaders in our school and are involved in many different extra-curricular activities. We are Westfield proud! #buildingleaders #whsclassof2025

Thank you to our Praise Band for starting our morning off in song and worship and to Reverend Tom Carruth, senior pastor of Perry Methodist Church, for speaking to our Middle and Upper School students at this week's assembly. Sharing from Acts 17, he encouraged students to be true believers, knowing God deeply as their one true living God. We are grateful for these opportunities for our students to hear God's Word from pastors in our community. #WednesdayWisdom #educationofmindandheart

Please join us in congratulating our 2024 GIAA AAA State Champion varsity softball team and coaches for the eighth year in a row!
