Students are preparing for an upcoming Christmas concert on December 11th, creating special artwork, and participating in a variety of community service projects. Winter sports have begun, and our teams are competing in basketball, wrestling, and swimming. It's a great time to be a Westfield Hornet!
Please be sure to mark your calendar that Thursday, December 19th is the last day of school before Christmas Break and a NOON DISMISSAL. There will be no After School Program available. Classes will resume on Monday, January 6th.

Our AR Prize Patrol recognized these awesome readers for the month of November! These Hornets are reading tons of books! Way to go!
Have you written your letter to Santa? Our kindergarten students are working hard this morning, sounding out consonants and vowels, spelling words, and using capitalization and punctuation to write their very own Santa letters. #westfieldkindergarten
Our second graders stepped back in time to experience life in the 1800s by spending the day at the Georgia Agrirama. What a wonderful way to learn about and experience history! #learningoutsidetheclassroom
Fourth graders in Mrs. Shannon Reber's social studies classes learned about one of America's favorite traditions - the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! The students learned about the parade and its famous floats. They designed their own "floats" and wrote persuasive letters explaining why their design should be chosen for the parade. The students "paraded" through the second grade classes to show them their work! #westfieldfourthgrade
Our fall semester will end on Thursday, December 19th (noon dismissal), the last day of school before Christmas Break begins. Our first graders gave a wonderful performance of The First Thanksgiving, reminding us all of the many blessings that God has bestowed upon us and our country. Thank you to these precious students and their amazing teachers - they did an incredible job! The first grade has been performing this special Thanksgiving play for more than 30 years at Westfield...truly a beloved tradition! #westfieldfirstgrade
It's beginning to look like Christmas in the Upper School art studio! Students in Mrs. DJ Blalock's art classes are creating Christmas trees in clay pottery. Today, they are glazing the trees. We can't wait to see the finished products! #handsonlearning
Merry Christmas from fifth grade! These students in Mrs. Lea Rogers’ music class are using boomwhackers as percussion instruments. These instruments are lightweighted, hollow, color-coded plastic tubes, tuned to a musical pitch by length. Each color produces its own musical note - and they are lots of fun to play! #handsonlearning
Our own Coach Ken Fowler delivered the message at our recent FCA breakfast! He reminded students about how God teaches us through the Israelites to Remember, Trust, and Obey! Tomorrow, FCA Small Groups will meet for breakfast in the cafeteria at 7:15 am.

Neal O’Brien raised the most money ($855), and Nicholas Free was voted as having the best beard. Neal and Nicholas will not be required to shave during December for being winners in this year’s contest.
