Greetings!
Happy New Year! As we begin 2021 and the new spring semester, we are grateful to return to campus to continue with daily in-person instruction, school activities, and athletics. While this school year has been challenging for our entire school community, we are thankful to be in school and appreciative of your understanding, patience, and support of the efforts of our school faculty, staff, and administration to keep our campus open, safe, and healthy. We truly appreciate your efforts to maintain the health and safety of our school community. As we begin 2021, it is our prayer that you and your family have a safe and healthy year, and we ask for your continued prayers for Westfield, our community, state, and nation. #wearewestfield
#facebehindthemask spotlights

This week's #facebehindthemask spotlight shines on Mrs. Donna Kelham and Ms. Susan Franklin.

Mrs. Kelham has worked at Westfield for six years as a fifth grade teacher. Here is what Mrs. Kelham says she enjoys most about working at Westfield: “I love that Westfield feels like family! We get to know the kids before we have them in class and watch them mature even after they’ve moved. Such a blessing to be able to love on them for years.”

Ms. Franklin joined the Westfield faculty three years ago and can be found in the Lower School Building teaching fourth grade students. Additionally, she is the Assistant Coach for Varsity Cheer and Head Coach for JV Cheer. Ms. Franklin shares, "I LOVE so many things about teaching here...the sense of community, the small class sizes which help us to better get to know our children and how they best learn, allowing children to still be children through playing and creating, having the focus on learning and not state mandated testing, wonderful colleagues, helping to coach cheer, Football Friday nights, and having the BEST team teacher EVER to collaborate with in fourth grade. This is my dream job!! Go Hornets!"

Important Information for Middle and Upper School

Our faculty has been working very diligently not only to provide in person instruction in the classroom, but also to provide instruction for students who are unable to attend school due to illness, quarantine, etc. For our Middle and Upper School students, teachers have been utilizing both our MyWestfield (RenWeb) student/parent information portal and Microsoft Office 365 TEAMS to provide online access to all class information and materials (i.e. handouts, notes, lectures, lesson plans, homework and classwork assignments) and grades. However, we believe that having all class information readily available in one place instead of two places will be more convenient and efficient.

Beginning this semester, all class information and materials as listed above will be available on Microsoft Office 365 TEAMS for each course. Only grades will be available via MyWestfield (RenWeb). Teachers will review with students how to navigate their class TEAM.

To access your child’s course Microsoft Office 365 TEAMS, you must have your child’s log in information which includes your child’s username, which is their school email address, (graduation year followed by first initial and last name i.e. 21mkinnas@westfieldschool.org) AND password. Your child’s school email address (Microsoft Office 365) user name and password should be kept secure.
·        Go to https://portal.office.com (we recommend using the Microsoft Edge browser)
·        Enter your child’s school email address as the user name
·        Enter your child’s email password
If you should have any issues logging in, please email helpdesk@westfieldschool.org

While this year's tournament included a smaller number of varsity teams only and awards/medals were not given due to COVID protocols, our Hornet wrestlers had a great day with a total of 52 wins and only 16 losses, Great job, Hornets! We are Westfield proud! #westfieldwrestling
