How will your support of the Gala & Auction
benefit our entire Westfield community?

Proceeds from our upcoming Gala & Auction will benefit the 50 th Anniversary Campaign, providing funding for the renovation and expansion of the Gymnatorium. This renovation/expansion project will benefit our entire Westfield community in many ways, including:

Expanded Space: The approximate 79 ’x 43’ foyer area will provide additional practice space for wrestling, cheerleading, and basketball and a nice welcome area for events such as Grandparents’ Day, Graduation, and assemblies.

Improved Amenities: In addition to the foyer space, the renovation will include new amenities such as restrooms, concessions, and a Spirit Shop allowing us to better serve our school community and guests.

Enhanced Sound System: Acoustical panels and a permanent sound system will greatly improve the sound quality of programs such as pep rallies, assemblies, Grandparents’ Day, Graduation, and more.

2019 Tax Receipts
If you need a detailed contribution statement for tax purposes, please email Laura Medlin at lmedlin@westfieldschool.org.

Today’s post is a salute to second grade’s production of Mr. Popper’s Penguins , based on the famous children’s book written by Richard and Florence Atwater. Always held on the last Friday in January, this special tradition began in the early 90s and was created by beloved teachers Joye Goodwin and Janet Nunn. During the program, the students portray the story of Mr. Popper’s performing penguins and also share interesting facts they have learned about penguins. Over the years, the program has evolved to include costumes, poems, and songs. During one memorable year, the penguins performed the “Dirty Bird” dance in honor of the Atlanta Falcons' appearance in the Super Bowl. Tomorrow, our current second grade students will present this fun program once again for their families and special guests. Take a look at a few of our adorable penguins from the past! #throwbackthursday #50yearsofwestfield #westfieldsecondgrade #westfieldtraditions
Fourth and fifth graders participated for the first time in the Houston County Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl competition. Great job by these Hornet readers!
Sixth graders in Mrs. Stephanie Black's math classes are using a number cube to determine the measurements of the sides of rectangular prisms. Then they calculated the volume and competed for highest totals against a partner just to make it a little bit more fun! #interactivelearning #collaborativelearning #educationofmindandheart
Seventh graders in Mrs. Leigh Ann Champion’s life science classes are combining art and technology to help them learn the skeletal system of the human body. #collaborativelearning #technologyandart

A Christian environment is part of Westfield's mission, and we are grateful for the opportunity to provide Wednesday assemblies for our Middle and Upper School students. This morning, Daryl McElwain, director of the Flint River Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), shared the message that we must hear - the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Thank you, Daryl, for sharing the Gospel in an inspiring and enthusiastic way to reach the hearts of our students! #wednesdayassembly #educationofmindandheart
