September 5, 2019
Hello Westfield families!
September has arrived, fall sports are in full swing, and we are ready to kickoff our 50th anniversary campaign on September 13th! Scroll down to read more! It's great to be a Westfield Hornet! #educationofmindandheart
Today’s throwback is a salute to Westfield softball. Over the years, our softball program has been incredibly successful. In fact, softball has won 22 region championships and six state championships -- more than any other Westfield sport! Westfield softball began in 1973 under the direction of Coach Earl Marshall, and the success continues. We hope you will come out and support our 2019 back-to-back state champion and undefeated Lady Hornets today at 5:55 pm vs Schley County. #50yearsofwestfield #westfieldsoftball
Please share your Westfield story with us! Is there a teacher or coach who made an impact on your life? A special moment or funny memory that stands out to you? Please submit your story to lmedlin@westfieldschool.org or shoot us a Facebook message. We will collect and share them as we celebrate 50 years of excellence.

Math on the move! Seventh grade math students in Mrs. Michele Walton’s classes are working math problems all around the classroom and getting their steps in at the same time!! #classroomtravels #interactivelearning #educationofmindandheart
First grade had a special visitor this week! Westfield grandparent Dr. Fred Girton (and also the father of first grade teacher Mrs. Liana Walton) came to talk about being a medical doctor. He showed the class what was in his medical tool kit. What a great way to learn about one of the professions our first graders have been writing about this week on “What I want to be when I grow-up...” #educationofmindandheart
How far will these airplanes fly? Find out from the fourth graders in Mrs. Wendy Bryan’s STEM class. They constructed airplanes out of card stock and had to figure the weight transfer (where to best have weight of plane) and lift (how to construct wings) in order to have their plane fly the furthest. #interactivelearning #STEMlearning
