Hello Westfield families!
Be sure to read this week's Westfield Weekly and mark your calendar for several important dates...our Fall Chorus Concert this Sunday at 3 pm, Fall Break beginning October 4th, and Spirit Week/Homecoming! It's great to be a Westfield Hornet!
Westfield Upper School students, faculty, and staff joined together to present the 2018-2019 Vespidae yearbook in dedication to Mrs. Kay Grier. Mrs. Kay served Westfield for many years as a teacher and Director of Counseling. She is a Westfield alumna and past parent of two Westfield grads, Jenni and Ellen. Thank you, Mrs. Kay, for your love and support of our students and our school! We are Westfield proud to dedicate our yearbook in your honor! #vespidaeyearbook #westfieldproud #whsalumni
Don't miss our Fall Chorus Concert, presented by our Lower, Middle, and Upper School choruses this Sunday, September 29th at 3 p.m. in the Recital Hall! #westfieldchorus #westfieldworships
Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the 50 th Anniversary Campaign. Currently we are at 59 percent school-wide participation. This is a great start, but we have a long way to go to reach our 80 percent participation goal by October 3rd! If we reach 80 percent school-wide participation by the 3 rd , everyone will receive a day off of school on April 13, and all students will be allowed to wear Spirit Wear during the month of December.

If you have not yet contributed, we hope you will prayerfully consider a gift. Donations of every size make an impact and will help Westfield’s legacy to continue for another fifty years. This year's contributions will benefit the renovation of the Gymnatorium to include a new foyer, Spirit Shop, concession stand, restrooms, and sound system with acoustical panels. Donations can be made via cash, check, bill account, or online . #honoringourpastandbuildingourfuture
Today’s throwback post is a salute to Westfield's Vespidae yearbook. Latin for “family of hornets”, the Vespidae received its name from student Camille Buice Campanelli '78, who won the schoolwide naming contest. The very first volume was published in 1971, with Laurie Marshall Jackson '71 serving as editor and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Clay serving as the Faculty Advisers. Last week, our students received the 49 th volume of the Vespidae, still published today by Jostens Publishing . Thank you to current Faculty Adviser, Mrs. Kathy Stubbs, and all former advisers, editors, and staff for keeping the Vespidae as a great Westfield tradition of archiving our history. #throwbackthursday #50yearsofwestfield #honoringourpastandbuildingourfuture
We are super excited to announce our 2019 Homecoming Spirit Week Days! Go Hornets! #homecoming2019 #50yearsofwestfield #spiritweek #westfieldtradition
Our Upper School Beta Club is sponsoring a collection of supplies for people in the Bahamas who were affected by the hurricane. Once supplies are collected, the Perry United Methodist Church Youth Group will be packaging the supplies into hygiene kits. Students will deliver the kits to the United Methodist Committee on Relief drop off center in Macon. Please bring supplies only listed on the list. Thank you for your donations! #hornetshelphurricanerelief
Check out our new STEM lab! Fourth graders in Mrs. Wendy Bryan’s STEM enrichment class are racing Pom poms through an obstacle course to discover how energy moves thing differently (i.e. “wind” pushing a vehicle from behind). #STEMlearning #handsonlearning
First graders in Mrs. Julie Foy's celebrated “I Can Do It!” Day. Every student brought in something that he/she could do all by themselves and presented it to the class. It was a great celebration at the end of a writing unit where one of the books written was called “All By Myself!”
Middle and Upper School students and faculty participated in the Global Week of Student Prayer this week for the national "See you at the Pole" Day. Kyle Barfield '04, youth pastor at The Grove Church, shared a devotional and led students and faculty in prayer. #seeyouatthepole #educationofmindandheart
Our Upper School Chorus, directed by Mrs. Lauren Mann and accompanied by Mrs. Kathy Stubbs, provided worship at Houston Lake Baptist Church. They sang several selections from the upcoming fall concert (this Sunday at 3 pm) and joined the HLBC choir for the anthem. We love seeing our students share their time and talents in the community! #servingourcommunity #growinginfaith
