May has arrived, and it's a busy time on our campus! In just over a week, our senior class of 2022 will be graduating. Congratulations to our 2022
Valedictorian and Salutatorian

The Westfield School is pleased to award London Susanna Williams as the Valedictorian and Jeffrey Conner Shelton as the Salutatorian for the Class of 2022. 

London Susanna Williams, Valedictorian, is a High Honor Graduate with Distinction, an AP Scholar, and the recipient of numerous top average awards in many academic classes. She is a 2022 Golden Eagle nominee in the field of mathematics. A Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Ambassador, she is the recipient of numerous awards including the Wofford College Scholar Award, Presbyterian College Fellow Scholar Award, University of Rochester George Eastman Young Leaders Award, and University of Georgia Certificate of Merit Scholar Award.

A graduate of the Perry Chamber Youth Leadership program, London serves as vice president of the senior class and as vice president of the Upper School student council. She is a member of the Peer Leadership team and has served as a member of the Tri Hi Y Club, Beta Club, Foreign Language Club, Prayer Club, Key Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and the Homecoming Court. Outside of school, London competes in USA weightlifting where she has earned national level medals and awards. She is an active member of Harvest Church.

London has attended Westfield since Pre-Kindergarten. She is the daughter of Susanne and Wes Williams of Fort Valley and will attend the University of Georgia.

Jeffrey Conner Shelton, Salutatorian, is graduating with High Honors with Distinction and has earned top average awards in a variety of academic classes. He is Westfield’s 2022 STAR Student, Houston County’s 2022 STAR Student, and also the STAR Student for Region 6 which represents 19 school systems in central Georgia. Conner is a 2022 National Merit Scholar, an AP Scholar with Distinction, a 2022 Georgia Scholar, a 2021 Governor’s Honors attendee, Perry Kiwanis Club Stuent of the Year, and a 2022 Golden Eagle nominee for Technology. Conner is also the recipient of numerous academic awards including the Wofford College Scholar Award, Presbyterian College Fellow Scholar Award, and University of Georgia Certificate of Merit. He won the 2022 region and state championships for literary in argumentative essay and the 2022 region championship for literary in spelling.

Conner is involved in community service and is an active member of Westfield’s varsity tennis team, Foreign Language Club, Green Team, Beta Club, and Key Club. He is a graduate of the Perry Chamber Youth Leadership program and is an active member of Perry United Methodist Church where he leads the youth band.

Conner has attended Westfield since Pre-Kindergarten. is the son of Lydia and Sheldon Shelton of Perry and will attend the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Upper School foreign language teachers Mrs. Tina Bowker and Mrs. Anna Caulley created a special bulletin board display to wish “adios” and “revoir” to their graduating Spanish IV/AP Spanish and French IV/AP French students. We are pleased to announce that Westfield is once again a National Beta School of Merit! The National Beta School of Merit award is given to honor a club’s dedication and commitment to academic excellence. To achieve this prestigious honor, a school must include members from all eligible grade levels in their Beta club. This year, only 3,380 Beta Clubs across the country received this award. We are Westfield proud!

Our varsity girls soccer team and coaches celebrated a great season with their end of year banquet. Congratulations to the team for reaching the state quarterfinals this year and to these students who received special GISA awards: Brooke Meyers (All State and All Region), Tania Ortuno-Peña (All Region), and Sadie Knight (All Region) - not pictured. Great job, Lady Hornets! We are Westfield proud! #westfieldsoccer
Congratulations to our varsity baseball team on a great season, reaching the Final Four of the GISA AAA State baseball tournament. The Hornets finished the season with an overall 19-10 record and were 6-2 in the region. Great job, Hornet baseball team and coaches! #westfieldbaseball
