Students in Mrs. Christy Mooring’s seventh grade English classes have finished reading the novel, The Outsiders. They are reviewing by working together to answer questions about the plot, characters, and vocabulary, as well as an analysis of the poem, “Nothing Gold Can Stay.” #collaborativelearning #westfield7thgrade #educationofmindandheart

Thank you to Pastor Jacob Green, lead pastor at Shirley Hills Baptist Church, for speaking to our Middle and Upper School students this week, encouraging them to truly know Christ and live their lives in an authentic way for Him. We thank Pastor Green for sharing the Gospel with our students and for praying with them. Thank you also to our Upper School Praise Band for leading our assembly with worship and praise music. #WednesdayWisdom #assembly #educationofmindandheart

Congratulations to our Middle School and varsity swim teams on a great first meet of the season yesterday! These Hornets swimmers did not let a rainy, cold day at an outdoor pool keep them from a great competition! Seven of our swimmers qualified for state at this meet: Winn Martin (1st-100 fly, 2nd-50 free, 3rd-100 breaststroke); Morgan Miller (1st-200 IM, 1st-50 free, 2nd-100 fly); Kira Andrews (1st-100 free, 2nd-200 IM, 3rd-100 fly); Mallory Fortson (1st-50 Breaststroke, 2nd-100 IM, 2nd-50 back), Cole Abney (2nd-100 free, 3rd-50 back, 7th-50 free), and Cal Canterbury (6th-50 free, 8th-100 free). The Middle School girls’ relay team (Kinley Andrews, Mallory Fortson, Addi Lewis, and Mackenzie Parker) finished 3rd in the 200 free relay! Great job, Hornet swimmers!! #westfieldswimming
