Face Behind the Mask Spotlight

Today’s #facebehindthemask spotlight features Mrs. Lane Briscoe. Mrs. Briscoe has worked at Westfield for two years as a Pre-K teaching assistant. Here is what she says enjoys most about working at Westfield: “I grew up here, so Westfield feels like home to me. The family atmosphere and Christian education we provide here at Westfield mean the world to me as a parent and as an employee. And of course I love working with Kollyn Lawson in Pre-K! The children are precious, and we have so much fun!” #facebehindthemask #wearewestfield #healthyhornets
Fourth graders in Mrs. Amber Churcher's class have been studying a unit on force and motion over the past few weeks with a focus on simple machines and types of energy. As a culminating activity, students were challenged with creating a Rube Goldberg project...a complicated way to accomplish a simple task. Students worked in groups to brainstorm, plan, and execute their idea. At least three simple machines had to be included in the finished product. The hands-on learning incorporated knowledge, application, synthesis, evaluation, and creativity. #handsonlearning #STEM #westfieldfourthgrade
First graders in Mrs. Jackie Cox’s class are learning to use a dictionary to help them become stronger readers and writers! #educationofmindandheart #westfieldfirstgrade
These fifth graders are learning coding by using the Lightbot App on their final day of STARBASE Robins. #handsonlearning #STEMlearning #technology #coding #westfieldfifthgrade
These seniors are soon to be college freshmen! We are Westfield proud of them as they finish their K-12 journey, prepare for commencement on May 14th, and begin a new season of life! #whsclassof2021 #educationofmindandheart #readyforcollegereadyforlife
Thank you to Mrs. Nichole Lawson, Youth Pastor at Perry United Methodist Church, for sharing God’s Word with our Middle and Upper School students this week, encouraging them to make their relationship with Christ the number one priority in their lives. After speaking, she prayed with our students and presented each senior with a special painted rock, reminding them that Christ is their rock and foundation. We are grateful for these opportunities for our students to be inspired! #virtualassembly #educationofmindandheart #Wednesdaywisdom
We are Westfield proud of our soccer teams! They played their last games of the season this week. #westfieldsoccer
Westfield seniors Sadie Hayes and Emma William advanced to the second round of the GISA AAA state tennis tournament with a win over Brookwood. Congrats to Sadie and Emma and these Hornet tennis players who competed in the state individual: JB Carroll, Sean Fisher, Conner Shelton, Carly Velasquez (all in singles play), Ellie Williams, Meg Hiley, Nic Sapp, Owen Knight, Ish Patel, and Walker Young (all in doubles play). We are Westfield proud! #westfieldtennis
Our varsity golf team qualified for and competed at the GISA AAA state tournament at Brunswick Country Club. Great job, Hornet golfers!
Sports Physicals to be offered May 6th

Westfield will be offering our annual athletic physicals on Thursday May 6th in the Recital Hall from 6 until 7 pm. Just as a reminder, all students who participate in a Middle School or Upper School sport must have a current physical (completed within the last calendar year) on file at the school. This is a great and easy way to go ahead and get it done for the next school year. The cost of the physical is $15 and can be charged to your school account. Students attending must bring the completed/signed paperwork and wear t-shirts and athletic shorts.
