Yes, I want to volunteer in the Spirit Shop!

What a special treat to have artist and author Mavis Stevens on our school campus to inspire and captivate our Lower School students with the magic of storytelling! Ms. Stevens spoke to our second, third, and fourth grade students about being a life-long artist and her journey of writing a heartwarming children's book, Last Chance Trailer Park. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to connect with a real-life author and explore the world of imagination through literature and creativity. On a side note, Ms. Stevens was our own Mrs. Karen Ray's art teacher! #happyart #visitingauthor #reading #educationofmindandheart

Our third grade classes explored the inner workings of our city government and fire department during a field trip to the City of Perry City Hall and the Police, Fire and Emergency Services departments. Thank you to the staff and to City of Perry Mayor Randall Walker and to Westfield parent Brooke Newby, City Attorney, for helping our students see how government works in a real setting! #handsonlearning #thirdgradefieldtrip #exploringanddiscovering #learningoutsidetheclassroom

Kindergarten students in Ms. Angie McKinley and Mrs. Suzy Walton’s class are working on short vowels, and this week they worked on the short a. As a part of their learning, they are making Vowels Books, writing and illustrating a sentence with short a words. #learningvowels #readersandwriters #westfieldkindergarten

The AR Prize Patrol is out again! Congratulations to Reid Roberts and Matteo Padilla for earning over 100 Accelerated Reader points! #reading #acceleratedreader #educationofmindandheart

It’s an exciting day when the City of Perry Fire & Emergency Services brings a student to school! Congratulations to third grader Anna Caroline Davis, this year’s winner of the City of Perry Fire Department’s Fire Safety Poster Contest! Congratulations also to third graders Isabella Luczun and Tatum Pitts who received runner up and honorable mention awards in the contest. We are Westfield proud!

Our Middle School commons area is a great space for collaborating on assignments, brainstorming ideas, creating projects, and even reviewing for an upcoming test. We love seeing these 7th grade students in Mrs. Michele Walton’s math class working together to prepare for their math test. #collaborativelearning #makerspace #educationofmindandheart

Our Upper School Foreign Language Club had the opportunity to hear first-hand how important the ability to speak a second language can be in a career from alumnae Korah Beth Clark '16, a certified athletic trainer in the Atlanta Braves organization. Korah Beth shared with the students about how she is fulfilling her dream of working as an athletic trainer in major league baseball, a goal she set as a Westfield student in Mrs. Tina Bowker's Spanish classes. Korah Beth earned her Bachelor's degree from Georgia College and State University and her Master's degree from Murray State University where she was a graduate assistant in athletic training for the baseball team. Thank you, Korah Beth, for encouraging our students to learn Spanish -- and to keep using their verb boxes! #westfieldforeignlanguage #WHSAlumni

Our senior class visited the Legacy Museum in Montgomery, Alabama, today. #whsclassof2024 #learningoutsidetheclassroom #exploringhistory

Upper School students in the Tri-Hi-Y Club are making hearts to decorate residents’ doors at Summerhill Senior Living Community. We love seeing our students spread love! #servingourcommunity #trihiy #valentinesday

Congratulations to our Middle School wrestling team at the GIAA Middle School End of Season Tournament hosted by Brookstone School in Columbus. Caden Arnette, Jagger Butts, and Landon Gillis all placed fourth individually! Great job, Hornet wrestlers! #westfieldwrestling
