Grandparents' Day 2024

Thank you to the over 1,000 grandparents, parents, and special friends who visited our campus for Westfield's 35th annual Grandparents' Day. What a wonderful blessing to see our Lower School singing such sweet songs and verses of scripture! Thank you to our Pre K through 5th grade students and to Mrs. Lea Rogers, Mrs. Lauren Mann, Mrs. Anne Moore, and all of our Lower School faculty for a beautiful performance! Thank you to Mrs. Karen Ray for a fabulous Art Show and to Mrs. Traci Shipp for a great Book Fair, along with coaches Cheryl Peavy and Brett Hardy for organizing fun games and activities! Grandparents Day' would not be possible without the help of our senior class, our FLIK Independent School Dining staff, and our maintenance staff working so hard to make this one of our most special events and traditions! #westfieldgpd #creationsings #educationofmindandheart

Our littlest Hornets enjoyed a beautiful day learning, exploring, and fishing at the Go Fish Education Center today! #westfieldprek #fieldtrip #learningoutsidetheclassroom

Spring is here, and our kindergarten students in Ms. Angie McKinley and Mrs. Suzy Jordan’s class have been learning about the wind. This week, they made pinwheels and paper airplanes and have had so much fun testing them out! #handsonlearning #westfieldkindergarten #educationofmindandheart

Students in Mr. Rhett Farmer’s 8th grade US History class are using their critical thinking and analytical skills to write a response to a Document Based Question concerning how the Cold War was fought using unconventional weapons. #criticalthinking #writing #educationofmindandheart

Eighth grade English students in Mr. John McClellan’s classes are debating the national Public Forum topic for March, "Resolved: In the United States, collegiate student-athletes should be classified as employees of their educational institution." Debate is an excellent way for students to use and enhance their critical thinking and oral/written communication skills, as well as further develop their research, organization, and presentation skills. #collaborativelearning #PublicForum #educationofmindandheart

Thank you to Officer Camp from Perry Police Department for reading to our kindergarten classes this week! What a great way to celebrate Read Across America!

We are Westfield proud of juniors Adeline Barbour and Reid Black for being selected as delegates for the Flint Energies 2024 Washington Youth Tour!#buildingleaders

Congratulations to Harper Fountain who was recognized by the Perry Area Chamber of Commerce as a Middle School Student of the Quarter! We are Westfield proud! #buildingleaders

Thank you to our Middle and Upper School chorus students and director Mrs. Lauren Mann for a beautiful Spring Concert! Entitled "Take Me to the Water," the music selections reminded us of God's living water that quenches and restores our souls. The concert included performances of "It Is Well," "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing," "Blessings," and "Wade in the Water." Additionally, the literary team’s trio and quartet performed selections from their recent region competition, as they prepare to represent Westfield in state literary. #westfieldchorus #educationofmindandheart

Thank you to Jack Fitzgibbons, youth pastor of First Baptist Church of Cordele, for speaking with our Middle and Upper School students this week. He reminded students of Jesus's parable of the unmerciful servant in Matthew 18 and how we are called to forgive others because of the grace and mercy that He gives to us in forgiving our sins. We are grateful for the opportunities that our students have to hear God's word from pastors in our community! #WednesdayWisdom #educationofmindandheart

Congratulations to senior Dean Massey who was recognized by the Perry Kiwanis Club as a Scholar Athlete of the Month! Dean is state champion wrestler and also played varsity football for four years. We are Westfield proud! #whsclassof2024 #buildingleaders
