Fourth graders took an inside look at state government during their visit to the Georgia State Capitol. Following their tour of the Capitol, the students enjoyed lunch at the Varsity as part of a Westfield fourth grade field trip tradition!
Eighth graders in Mrs. Christy Mooring’s classes are "Writing like Shakespeare". They have been working on sonnets that require a certain number of syllables per line and a certain rhyme scheme...and enjoying sunshine in the quad! #collaborativelearning #learningoutsidetheclassroom #whywestfield
Our kindergarten students have been learning all about the animals they saw on their trip to Zoo Atlanta. They learned many important facts about various animals by creating posters and presenting their posters and information to their fellow classmates. After completing their study of animals, they enjoyed a fun trip to the zoo with their senior buddies!  #westfieldkindergarte n #seniorsandkinderbuddies #westfieldtradition

Over 65 families in our community will receive a Blessing Bag for Easter because of the generous support of our Upper School Beta Club and Tri-Hi-Y Club members! The Blessing Bag project is coordinated through the Jay's Hope Foundation, an organization that provides social, emotional, spiritual, educational and financial support to families in middle Georgia who have children with cancer. Each Blessing Bag includes a $20 gift card to Kroger or Walmart, along with other non-perishable food items to help each family have a special Easter meal. We are thankful that our students have the opportunity to participate in this special outreach that will touch the lives of many families! #servingourcommunity #makingadifferenceinthelivesoftothers

Our varsity baseball and softball teams joined together this past Saturday morning to teach fundamentals and encourage the love of the sport as part of RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities). RBI is a youth initiative operated by Major League Baseball to provide young people from underserved and diverse communities the opportunity to play baseball and softball. In addition to the camp, Westfield players donated bats, gloves, cleats, and other baseball and softball equipment. Several other area schools including Tattnall, ACE, Stratford, Mt de Sales, Windsor, and Central Fellowship Christian Academy joined Westfield in gathering equipment to donate to RBI and the Macon Little League. Thank you to Westfield baseball parent  Heather Miller  and baseball and softball coaches Rob Fitzpatrick and Danny Camp for leading this effort and to all who donated. This equipment will definitely change the lives of the youth at Macon Little League!
Our varsity girls soccer team earned another big region win this week over First Presbyterian Christian Academy! Sophomore Maura O’Connell had a hat trick (3 goals) for the Lady Hornets 3-2 victory! Last week, the team had a region win against St. Andrews as junior Gracie Pearson scored two goals for a final score of 2-0. Way to go, Lady Hornets! #westfieldsoccer
