Greetings!
Fall is in the air, and our students are working hard in the classroom and in representing Westfield in athletics. Please join us in wishing our varsity softball team good luck as they begin state championship tournament play tonight at 5 pm in Dublin! Tomorrow night, we will recognize 22 seniors participating in fall sports at 7 pm before the 7:30 pm kickoff for varsity football vs Briarwood. Next Friday, October 30th, is a fall costume dress day for everyone on campus. Don't forget that Monday, November 2nd is a student holiday as our faculty and staff will have a professional learning/development day. It's great to be a Westfield Hornet! #westfieldweekly

We are so excited to kick off year two of the 50th Anniversary Campaign! Here are a few things we want you to know about the campaign…
  • The 50th Anniversary Campaign will serve as our main fundraiser this year. The funds raised will benefit the renovation of the Gymnatorium to include a new foyer, restrooms, concession stand, Spirit Shop, and sounds system with acoustical panels.
  • All Westfield families should have received a detailed information letter and donation envelope in the mail this week.
  • To make a gift, simply complete and return the donation envelope to the school or you can also donate online at https://forms.diamondmindinc.com/westfieldschool/50thcampaign?token=1578074151
  • We will have a donation table and special presentation during half time of Friday (October 23rd) night’s football game. Bring your donation and be entered for a chance to win door prizes.
  • Over the next 3 weeks (October 23- November 13) our goal is to reach 70% school-wide participation and 70% participation within each grade.
  • If we are able to reach 70% school-wide participation by November 13th, everyone will receive a day off of school on April 5thand all students will be allowed to wear Spirit Wear EVERY DAY in December. Once each individual grade reaches 70% participation they will receive a pizza party!
  • Once a family gives, each of their children will receive credit for participating. You do not have to make a donation per child.
  • We are no longer offering the Discount Card to donors.
  • Gifts of every size help make a difference. Contributions to the 50th Anniversary Campaign are tax deductible. Tax receipts will be mailed out in January. Your gift will help Westfield continue honoring our past and building our future.

#facebehindthemask spotlights

This week's #facebehindthemask spotlight shines on Mrs. Shelley Greer and Mrs. Rebecca Staines.

Mrs. Greer has worked at Westfield for eight years. She can be found in the Lower School Building teaching 5th grade students. Here is what Mrs. Greer says she enjoys most about working at Westfield: "I love getting to form relationships with students when they are in my class and then have the opportunity to see them grow and develop as they move through the middle and high school years. It makes my day when students come by to speak to me or tell me something fun they remember about my class. I also love being able to teach in a Christian environment where we can openly pray for one another and develop our relationship with the Lord."

Mrs. Staines began teaching at Westfield this year. She can be found in the Upper School Building teaching English III and AP Literature to juniors and seniors. She shares, "Westfield is a place that allows students to learn at their full potential while being happy at school. The teachers here are supportive, friendly, and experts in their respective fields. I have loved being here!"
Fourth grade celebrated reaching their AR reading goals with "Books & Breakfast" ...and a special story from Ms. Franklin! #westfieldfourthgrade#ARgoals#BooksandBreakfast
Third graders in Ms. Lea Fountain’s music class used their artistic skills today to create flip books. The books are a great tool to help them learn about all of the instruments in the woodwind family. #artandmusic #westfieldfinearts #westfieldthirdgrade #educationofmindandheart
Spanish III students worked collaboratively to create restaurants menus in Spanish to present to their classmates. We loved seeing how creative they were in developing ideas and delicious menu items! #collaborativelearning #westfieldforeignlanguage
Our first graders are wonders! They finished reading the book “We’re All Wonders” by R.J. Palacio, learning about the importance of empathy and kindness, and completed an art and writing project. Truly, as God’s Word tells us, they are “fearfully and wonderfully made”! #teachingempathyandkindness #weareallwonders #firstgradereading #educationofmindandheart
Thank you to Eric Pratt of Harvest Church for sharing God’s Word with our Middle and Upper School students during this week's Wednesday assembly. #livestreamassembly #educationofmindandheart #wednesdaywisdom
Led by the Upper School Peer Leadership team, students, faculty, and staff joined together in wearing orange and sign the unity pledge to stand up against bullying and be an upstander for those who need assistance. #unityday #bullyingawareness #beanupstandernotabystander #peerleadership #buildingleaders
