Hello Westfield families!
We have so much exciting news to share! Our one act play cast and crew earned first place in region competition and will compete next week for the state title. Tomorrow, we will have a pep rally in the gymnatorium to honor senior athletes for senior night. Our theme for the pep rally is "Seniors are Out of this World". Upper and Middle School students may dress in ‘space’ wear: Outer space... aliens...astronauts, etc., while Lower School students are asked to wear their green and gold! Tomorrow night, we will recognize twenty members of the Class of 2020 for their dedication and hard work in representing Westfield in football, cheer, softball, and clay target shooting during our Senior Night presentation at 7 pm before kickoff vs Pinewood. Our fourth grade students stepped back in history to the days of colonial America today, while our first grade pilgrims and Indians are preparing for their performance of The First Thanksgiving. Don't forget...Monday, November 11th is a student holiday in observance of Veterans' Day; faculty and staff will be on campus for a professional development day. Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 12th. It's great to be a Westfield Hornet!

Today’s post is a salute to Westfield Youth Football. Westfield’s youth football program, originally known as the Little Stingers, began in 1973. During that inaugural year, the 5 th and 6 th grade team had a perfect 5-0 record. Today our youth football program consists of 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, and 5th/6th grade teams. Over the years, we have had many successful teams and "Peanut Bowl" champions. In fact, this year's 5th and 6th graders had an undefeated season. Many thanks to our wonderful volunteer coaches who dedicate so much time and energy into developing these young players. #throwbackthursday #50yearsofwestfield #honoringourpastandbuildingourfuture #westfieldtraditions

Our fourth graders have stepped back into history! These "colonists" are spending the day in hands-on learning about Colonial America, making the social studies lessons they have been learning truly come to life. They are incorporating music, art, and even physical education into their study of the American Revolution. Through their study, they have not only learned about the founding of our country, they have learned also that freedom is not free...that it comes with sacrifice. #historycomestolife #patriotsday #whyamericaisfree
Eighth graders in Mr. John McClellan’s English classes created comic strips about the life and times of Julius Caesar...such a neat and interesting way to study a biography!
Our Middle School students experience one enrichment class each quarter during the school year. These enrichment classes include Christian ethics, chorus, art, and technology. This week, sixth graders made bracelets spelling their names in Morse Code as an introduction into coding in their technology class. Coding will teach them how to create computer programs and learn how they work. #interactivelearning
