Hello Westfield families!

The Christmas season is upon us, and tomorrow we will have the opportunity to join together for a school-wide assembly to present gift to one hundred and twenty five children in our community through our partnership with Perry Volunteer Outreach. Thank you to all for your generosity and support of KidsGive, now in its twelfth year at Westfield, to make Christmas merrier for these children and families. We believe that KidsGive and other service opportunities are
"teachable moments" to help students realize the importance of helping others, showing kindness, and serving our community. Be sure to read this week's Westfield Weekly for important information on upcoming Christmas events on campus including our Chorus Concert and Lower School's Breakfast with Santa, along with Middle and Upper School exam schedules and winter athletic events. Our first home varsity basketball games are tonight...wear white for a whiteout vs Tiftarea in the Hornets' Nest. It's great to be a Westfield Hornet!

Prayers for the Walker Family
As many of you may know, on Sunday, November 24th, Phil Walker, a Westfield parent, was critically injured while at work. He is in a non-medically induced coma at Navicent Health in Macon with swelling and bruising of the brain, a spinal cord injury and multiple broken bones. He is a living miracle and is fighting hard to come back to his loving wife, Connie (‘99), and his 3 children: Warren, a senior at UGA, Emma Grace, 4th grade, and Jackson, Kindergarten. Phil is a well-loved and devoted father who is often at Westfield helping with his children’s classes, accompanying them on field trips, and doing whatever task the WFO asks of him. In times like this we all want to help, but don’t know how. In an effort to provide financial support and show the Walker’s how much we care, the Wild Goose Chase Foundation has created the Phillip Walker Family Fund.
There will be no operating cost whatsoever for this, and 100 percent of all donations will be given to the Walker family for medical and family living expenses while Phil is hospitalized, during rehabilitation, or subsequent care. Any additional funds will be used to create a college fund for the children. Each donation is tax deductible. The Foundation will compile a list of donors and disperse funds as requested by the Walker family.
Donations may be dropped off at Westfield's Administration office or mailed directly to Wild Goose Chase Foundation, 1195 Taylors Mill Road, Fort Valley Georgia 31030. Venmo donations can be sent to @WildGoose-Foundation. Please include “Phillip Walker Family Fund” in the notes of your donation.
Thank you for helping provide support to one of our own during this uncertain time. Please continue to cover Phil, Connie, and their family in prayer in the days and weeks to come.

Today's throwback is a salute to the Kids Give program. Originated in 2008, KidsGive was the brainchild of Mr. Frank Shelton, founder of Perry Volunteer Outreach (PVO) and longtime Westfield grandparent and supporter, and Mrs. Rachel Deems, former Westfield Head of School. The two were looking for a way to help students learn the importance of serving and developed the the Kids Give program to provide Christmas gifts to local children in need. Each year, our Upper School Student Council helps organize the program, and students, faculty, and staff school-wide collect gifts. Tomorrow, the entire student body will join together for a special assembly to present over 400 gifts to PVO. Thanks to our amazing Westfield family, 125 children in the Perry area will have a magical Christmas. We are grateful that the KidsGive program has become a Westfield tradition that not only helps families in our community, but also continues in memory of Mr. Shelton and his incredible legacy to our community.

Spanish II students in Mrs. Tina Bowker's class used their art and engineering skills to design and construct houses or "casas" (or drawings of houses) to help them learn Spanish vocabulary for the different rooms, furnishings, etc. that would be found in a home.
