Annual Fund Campaign Kickoff
Nurturing Growth Through Play
As we come together to kick off this year’s Annual Fund Campaign, our hearts and prayers are with all families who may be affected by the approaching hurricane. We ask for God’s protection and grace during this time.
While we are mindful of the challenges ahead, we remain committed to providing the best possible environment for our students to grow and thrive. This year’s Annual Fund Campaign: Nurturing Growth Through Play: Help Us Renew Our Playground is a critical step toward enhancing our Lower School playground, an essential space where children learn, play, and develop lifelong skills. Your contribution will make a lasting impact on our students and the entire Westfield community for generations to come.
In order to bring this vision to life, our goal is to reach $500,000. With your support, we can transform the playground into a vibrant, engaging, and imaginative space for all our students. This includes the removal of pea gravel and the installation of new rubberized safety surfacing. To learn more about the importance of this year’s Annual Fund and to see the vision come to life, click on video below.

First AR Prize Patrol of the year! Congratulations to James Hulbert, 5th grade, for earning over 150 points, and Hattie Pierce, 4th grade, for earning over 100 points. Way to go Hornet readers! | Fall has officially arrived, and that means it’s time for second grade to celebrate Johnny Appleseed Day! These spunky second graders read stories and wrote about Johnny Appleseed and his work as an apple grower and a missionary to the pioneers. They also sampled different kinds of apples and graphed which ones were the most liked among their classmates. A fun fall day for second grade! #johnnyappleseedday #westfieldsecondgrade #westfieldtraditions
Fifth grade had a blast today playing Kahoot! to review for their upcoming science quiz! #westfieldfifthgrade

Thank you to Captain Harvey of the City of Perry Fire and Emergency Services department for visiting our Pre-K and Kindergarten classes this week! He will be visiting all of our Pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade classes over the next few weeks to help our youngest Hornets about fire safety. Thank you, City of Perry Fire Department, for all you do for our school and community! #firesafetyeducation #communityhelpers #educationofmindandheart
One of our biggest blessings of having a Pre-K through 12th grade campus is getting to see older students interacting and mentoring our younger students. This morning, sixth graders in Mrs. Christy Mooring’s Christian Ethics class visited Mrs. Suzanne Johnson’s Pre-K class to help them make scarecrows after reading a book about a special scarecrow. #mentoring #Westfieldblessings #educationofmindandheart
Our Middle and Upper School students gathered in this week's assembly to recognize "See You at the Pole Day," a day where students at schools all over America join together to pray for our world, nation, state, cities, and schools. Upper School teacher Mr. Robert Jones shared a devotional reminding our students that we must pray for God's will to be done in our lives. Middle and Upper School students and faculty gathered in small groups, led by Upper School class chaplains, to pray. We are thankful to be able to pray every day at Westfield and for our assemblies where we join together in prayer. #seeyouatthepole #prayingtogether #WednesdayWisdom #educationofmindandheart
This week’s focus in our sixth grade’s Christian Ethics class is friendship. The students played a game matching famous friendships before discussing the need for Christian friendships where we can encourage and be encouraged. #educationofmindandheart | Upper School students wrote notes of encouragement during their Prayer Club meeting this week. These hand-written notes will be given to the 21st Century Partnership to military care packages for deployed RAFB military personnel. We are thankful for our military serving all over our world to protect our freedom. #educationofmindandheart
Congratulations to our Clay Target Shooting Team on a great meet on Saturday at the Meadows Gun Club! The meet consisted of 100 Sporting Clays and 50 Trap with 86 competitors from 12 schools. Great job, Hornet shooters! #westfieldclaytarget
Our middle school boys and girls' cross country teams raced in the Gryphon Gallop hosted by ACE this week in Macon. Both teams placed third. Jack Furr won the boys’ race. Charlie Furr placed 5th, and Nehemiah Johnson placed 9th. In the girls’ race, Olivia Carruth placed 5th and Audra Wolk placed 8th. Two of our varsity girls’ runners also competed. Both Charley Moore and Marissa Walton ran well and placed in the race. Charley finished 3rd, and Marissa 5th! Great job, Hornet XC!!
Our Lady Hornets softball team and coaches honored the memory of two team mothers, Mrs. Jennifer Spence and Mrs. Kristie Hill '88, who passed away this summer. The team wore a special t-shirt along with special hair ribbons and socks, signifying Jennifer and Kristie's favorite colors. Their initials, JS and KH, were painted on the field behind home plate and near third base. We are grateful for Jennifer and Kristie and their support and dedication of Westfield. We continue to pray for the Spence and Hill families. #Westfieldsoftball #WeAreWestfield
