November 18, 2021
Greetings!
It is the season of Thanksgiving, and we are thankful for our entire school community. We hope you have been able to follow along on our Facebook and Instagram social media pages as we've shared our "25 Days of Gratitude." Truly, we are thankful to God for the many blessings He bestows upon our students, faculty, staff, and families. We pray that you and your family enjoy a safe, healthy, and happy Thanksgiving, and we look forward to seeing everyone back on campus on Monday, November 29th. Happy Thanksgiving!
Thank you to our Pre-K students for sharing Thanksgiving songs, poems, and Bible verses to remind us of the season of Thanksgiving! #WestfieldPreK #Westfieldtraditions #Thanksgiving
50th Anniversary Campaign Year Three Update

Tomorrow (Friday, November 19th) is the deadline to reach our 50th Anniversary Campaign (year three) 75 percent participation goal. If you have not yet contributed, please consider making a donation today.

The renovation and expansion of the Gymnatorium will truly benefit every student/family at Westfield. The acoustical upgrades will greatly improve sound quality for Grandparents’ Day, Graduation, assemblies, pep rallies, and more. The foyer area will be a great welcome space for events and will serve as additional practice space for wrestling, cheerleading, etc. A dedicated Spirit Shop will allow for more inventory, and you will be able to shop in the air conditioning!

Participation truly is the most critical aspect of giving as it shows the strength of our community. Gifts of all sizes are needed and welcomed. Donations may be made via cash, check, bill account, or online at the link below. Thank you for your support!
KidsGive Gifts Due by November 30
Thank You for Supporting KidsGive!

In 2008, Westfield and Perry Volunteer Outreach partnered together to establish KidsGive, a special program to help make Christmas merrier for children in need in our community and to help teach students the importance of giving back to help others. Perry Volunteer Outreach was founded by the late Frank Shelton, a long-time Westfield support, parent, and grandparent. Since then, other businesses and organizations in Perry have joined Westfield in providing gifts for children each year. Our Middle and Upper School Student Councils organize the KidsGive initiative and decorate the KidsGive gift trees which are located in the Lower, Middle, and Upper School buildings. Each tree is decorated with tags listing gift items that are needed. KidsGive gifts must be returned to Westfield no later than Tuesday, November 30th so that they may be presented to Perry Volunteer Outreach at our KidsGive assembly on Wednesday, December 1st.

Please be reminded of the KidsGive gift guidelines:
  • Please purchase only the item(s) that is listed on the gift tag
  • Gift(s) must be returned to Westfieldl no later than Tuesday, November 30th with the KidsGive tag attached
  • Gift(s) must be unwrapped - please do not wrap your gift.
  • Please note that if the gift item is more than one item (i.e. the item is socks and you purchase more than one pair), you may put all items in a large Ziploc bag or gift bag with the KidsGive tag attached to the bag
  • Gift(s) must have the KidsGive gift tag attached.
Take a peek into our Fourth Grade's Patriots Day where students stepped back in time to experience Colonial America, making the social studies lessons they have been learning come to life. Through a variety of studies and activities, they learned not only about the birth of America and our founding fathers, they also learned that freedom is not free but comes with great sacrifice. Thank you to our fourth grade teachers, art and music enrichment teachers, special guests, Perry High School ROTC cadets, and parent volunteers for making today such a wonderful learning experience. #whyamericaisfree #handsonlearning.
Students in Mrs. Leigh Ann Champion’s 7th grade life science classes are creating Punnett squares to predict the possible outcomes for a genetic cross between two individuals with known genotypes. #westfieldscience #handsonlearning
Students in Mrs. Anna Caulley’s French I class wrote and performed their own skits as an assignment for memorization, pronunciation, culture, and creativity. #westfieldforeignlanguage #handsonlearning
It's not too early to begin making college plans. Our junior class recently visited the PROBE College Fair. After the fair, they stopped at Chick fil A for lunch and a class photo!
Congratulations to third grader Ella Cannon who won first place in the City of Perry Fire & Emergency Services’s Fire Safety Coloring Contest! Ella’s art was chosen among work by third graders from all schools in our community. Ella and her family, along with her teacher, Mrs. Lisa New, were recognized at this week’s City Council meeting by Fire Chief Lee Parker. We are Westfield proud! Thank you, City of Perry Fire and Emergency Services, for recognizing young people in our schools and community! #westfieldthirdgrade #cityofperryfiredept #artcontestwinner
