Aspotogan Fitness Club

Since September 2018, the Aspotogan Fitness Club has operated out of the lower level of the Lions Club in Fox Point.
The non-profit gym is committed to providing a clean, safe, inclusive and affordable fitness space for people aged 13 and older (those aged 13 to 16 must be accompanied by an adult). All profits are reinvested in maintaining and upgrading equipment, helping ensure members have access to quality facilities close to home.
The gym is managed by volunteers, with invaluable support from gym manager Kristy Wagner. Members also pitch in to help maintain the facility, reflecting the strong sense of pride and ownership within the club. Along with supporting physical health and wellness, the gym has helped foster friendships and connections among community members.

Help Build a Ramp for a Neighbour in Need
The Hubbards Area Lions Club is raising funds to build a wheelchair ramp for a local resident, and the community can help make it happen.
Donate your gently used items at any Hubbards Area Lions Club event, then shop the treasures at an indoor yard sale on Saturday, Sept. 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The sale will be held at the Hubbards Area Lions Club and operates on a "take what you want, pay what you can" basis, with all proceeds supporting the ramp project.
Admission is $2 at the door.
Every donation and purchase helps bring this much-needed accessibility project one step closer to reality. Come out, find a bargain and support a neighbour in need.

Supporting Those Living with Loss
The Gone But Never Forgotten grief support group returns Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. and meets every second Friday of the month.
The group welcomes new and returning participants seeking support, connection, and understanding as they navigate grief.
October sessions will focus on self-care.

Let's make it clear
We've been seeing more hard-to-read BTC numbers lately, and we're hoping you can help solve that problem.
And we mean that quite literally.
The best option for printing your BTC number is a black Sharpie Extra Fine Point marker. That's the marker used on the bottom sticker in the photo.
As you can see, the number is clear and easy to read, unlike the numbers on the other three stickers.
Pens, gel pens, regular markers and even fine-point markers can make numbers difficult for volunteers and our scanning software to read accurately. Using a black Sharpie Extra Fine Point marker helps ensure your number is clear every time.

Ken Gordon Society Merchandise Bingo
Looking for a fun afternoon out this fall?
The Ken Gordon Society is hosting a merchandise bingo at Estabrooks Community Hall on Saturday, Sept. 19, packed with great prizes and gift cards.
Doors open at 1 p.m., with games starting at 2 p.m.
Enjoy a canteen, 50/50 draw and plenty of chances to win.
The event is open to those aged six and up. Children must attend with an adult and play their own door book.

A Decade in the Woods
Last night, Roots & Boots Forest School Society celebrated 10 years in the forest with families, past and present staff, and board members gathering to mark the milestone.
The evening was filled with picnic dinners, yard games, slackline balancing, frog hunting, and exploring the woods that have been at the heart of the program for the past decade. It was a wonderful opportunity for members of the Roots & Boots community, past and present, to reconnect and celebrate the relationships and memories built over the years.
With the anniversary celebration complete, the 2026 Summer Forest Program has officially wrapped up. Preparations are now underway for the start of Fall Preschool sessions, with another season of outdoor learning and play just around the corner.

Rolling Over With Ollie
Meet Ollie, a six-year-old Bernedoodle with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He loves visiting local stores and socializing with everyone he meets, although a walk on the trails at Vernon's is near the top of his list, too. When treats are involved, Ollie is always ready to show off his collection of tricks, often performing before he's even asked.
At 110 pounds, Ollie isn't shy about making new friends. If you meet him, don't be surprised if he comes right over, leans against you and gazes up as if to say, "Nice to meet you!" He also loves car rides, especially when he can stick his head out the window and feel the breeze. In fact, Ollie has even figured out how to open the car window himself.
Ollie's family has been playing BTC for years and is proud to support the local organizations and initiatives that help strengthen our community.
