Director's Corner

Dear UPK Families,

Welcome back to a new school year at Uni Pres Kindercottage! September is always such a special month as we welcome our little learners, reconnect with families, and prepare for a year filled with growth, discovery, and joy.

This year, our focus is on developing young learners through a fun learning curriculum and building stronger partnerships to help support our mission. At UPK, we believe education begins with relationships – between teachers and children, families and staff, and our center and the wider community. Together, we can ensure that each child feels loved, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.

We are excited about the learning opportunities and special events planned this fall, including our pumpkin patch field trip, family literacy night, and fall health screenings. Please keep an eye on our monthly calendar for updates and important dates.

Adventures at The Edge!🎮

Our field trip to The Edge was such a wonderful experience for the children! The kids had a blast playing games, exploring new activities, and spending time together outside of the classroom. It was a fun-filled day full of laughter, learning, and friendship, and we loved seeing their smiles as they made lasting memories in a safe and exciting environment.

From Seeds to Sprouts🍉🫑

Our Summer Garden is starting to grow! After weeks of planting and caring for the garden, the children were so excited to see the first sprouts and crops peeking through the soil. They’ve been watering, weeding, and watching closely as their hard work begins to pay off. The kids are learning patience and responsibility while also enjoying the thrill of seeing nature come to life right before their eyes. We can’t wait to watch our garden continue to grow!

Little Champions in Action🏅

Olympics Week was full of energy and excitement! The children enjoyed participating in fun games and activities that encouraged teamwork, movement, and friendly competition. From relay races to obstacle courses, each event gave the kids a chance to shine and cheer on their friends. It was wonderful to see their smiles, sportsmanship, and school spirit throughout the week as we celebrated the joy of being active together!

Learning Through Crafting 🎨

At UPK, our little learners are growing every day! Through fun crafting and creative projects, children are building social skills by working together and sharing ideas, practicing math as they count and measure, and strengthening language and literacy as they talk about their creations. Plus, all that cutting, coloring, and gluing helps boost their motor skills. Learning has never been so much fun!

Cardinal Care Night Out⚾️

Our families had an amazing time cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals during Cardinal Care Night! The kids were full of excitement as they experienced the ballpark atmosphere, enjoyed ballpark treats, and rooted for the home team. It was a wonderful evening filled with community, laughter, and Cardinals spirit!

A Day with our Furry & Feathered Friends🐢🐇

This week, the children had an unforgettable experience with the Traveling Petting Farm! They were all smiles as they got up close with friendly animals, learning about their habits and enjoying gentle interactions. From soft bunnies to curious goats, the kids loved every moment of exploring farm life right here at daycare.

The Hearts That Give💛

We are truly grateful for the generous donors who blessed our center with wonderful gifts. Their kindness brought joy and excitement to our children, making them feel special and cared for. These thoughtful contributions help us continue creating a loving and supportive environment where our kids can learn, grow, and thrive.
