Make Holiday Joy Happen

This holiday season, you can help make the season brighter for people served by Services for the UnderServed. Whether you adopt a holiday wish, rally your coworkers or friends, or make a donation, there’s a way for everyone in our community to take part.

Here are a few ways you can help:

  • Adopt a holiday wish for one or more people.
  • Organize a gift drive with coworkers, friends, family, or your community.
  • Host a gift-wrapping party and turn a holiday gathering into an opportunity to give back.
  • Make a donation and we will shop for you.
  • Shop our Amazon Gift List and send gifts directly.

Gifts are due December 9.

S:US’ annual Developmental Disabilities Championships and Family Fun Day caught the attention of QNS, which highlighted the celebration at Astoria Park. More than 600 program participants came together for a day of competition, creativity, and community, bringing this year’s “Anything’s Possible” theme to life.

Now in its 17th year, the Championships celebrate something bigger than a single day: creating opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to participate, connect, and thrive in their communities.

Opinion: We Can’t Fly Blind on Food Assistance

In a new City & State NY op-ed, S:US President & CEO Perry Perlmutter and New York City Council Member Justin Sanchez warn that new SNAP requirements are putting thousands of New Yorkers at risk of losing food assistance. They call for better data, sustained outreach, and a stronger role for trusted community providers in helping eligible New Yorkers stay connected to benefits.

At S:US, that work is already happening close to home, including through our community fridges and food access programs that provide low-barrier access to food in New York City neighborhoods.
