Dear CASA supporter,

Progress isn’t always monumental.

Sometimes it looks like a child finding the courage to speak up for what they need because they feel supported.

Sometimes it’s a student showing up to school more consistently.

Sometimes it’s one less night spent anxious and afraid — because someone has their back.

These moments may seem small, but for a child navigating the child welfare system, they are life-changing. Through the steady presence of a CASA volunteer, children served by CASA Lake County are reminded that their voice matters, their needs deserve to be heard, and their future is worth advocating for.

Thank you for making these quiet victories possible. They are building blocks of hope — one moment at a time.

With gratitude,

P.S. There are currently 6 Lake County children waiting for a CASA volunteer. The best ways to help are to volunteer, share our need for volunteers with a friend, or donate to support our work.

Kudos for Some Amazing CASA Volunteers

To CASA Megan on the closing of her first case, which ended with a successful reunification with the parents. Megan took the time to recognize and lean into each of the children’s unique needs. One of the teens took an interest in fixing things in the home, and Megan encouraged this by helping find parts for ceiling fans. Megan has already agreed to take on a new case and we’re confident she will be a tremendous support to this family. We are so grateful for Megan's commitment!

To CASA Nick for a successful case closure in reunification of his three CASA children, ages 8, 15 and 16, with their biological mother. Nick connected well with the children and built a great relationship with the previous foster parents, the caseworker, and the biological mother. Throughout the case, Nick consistently advocated for their mental, educational, physical health and dental needs. We are grateful for Nick's committed, thoughtful, and caring advocacy for these children.

To CASA Sue who advocates for four CASA youths, most notably a teen girl who has struggled with severe mental health and behavioral issues resulting in many failed foster placements, psychiatric hospitalizations and residential home denials. From her time in a shelter, to hospitalizations, and her recent placement in an emergency foster home, she has continually called Sue requesting frequent visits. Sue has also checked in often and visited within a couple of days of each call. Sue is the one person this teen knows that she can rely upon.

Mission Statement

CASA Lake County exists to promote and protect the best interests of youth who have been found to be abused, neglected, or dependent. We train and empower volunteers to advocate for them in the courts and in the community to help them safely return to their families, or when not possible, help them achieve safe and permanent homes where they can thrive.
