A message from Tom Jones, Lakeside Chautauqua Foundation Board Chair
As the Lakeside Chautauqua season quickly approaches, like you, I'm filled with many emotions. I'm as excited and hopeful as I am every May. I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. I'm anticipating “porch time” several evenings a week, hearing stories and laughing with fellow Lakesiders.

I can't wait to play pickleball and tennis, attend God Squad with my granddaughters, walk the lakefront, enjoy the lake, attend Dockside Worship on Sundays and so much more.

However, this May, I'm also fearful. COVID-19 has changed our world in ways that three months ago I couldn’t have imagined. The pandemic has impacted our lives emotionally, socially, vocationally, spiritually and financially. What does the future hold for us? What does the future hold for Lakeside? What will the Lakeside new normal look like?

I once heard an old preacher by the name of George Buttrick say, “Fear knocked at the door, faith got up to answer, no one was there.” I have faith that the good will of Lakesiders will overcome fear. Lakeside has stood the test of time. We have faced harsh realities in the past and have prevailed. We shall do so again.
Stand with me and many other Lakesiders to do 2 things...
First, if you're willing and able in light of your personal circumstances, please consider helping Lakeside financially with your donations. Make a gift today or commit to a monthly gift to the Lakeside Annual Fund.

Second, will you join my wife Debbie and me by giving your time? One way we all can help is by volunteering. This will help reduce Lakeside's expenses dramatically. M ore information on how to join Lakeside's new initiative, the Lakeside Chautauqua Corps of Volunteers, will be announced soon.

I can tell you that I am personally committed, within my personal means and resources, to do all I can for Lakeside. If not you and me, then who will support Lakeside during these uncertain times?
Why am I doing these 2 things?
I’ll give you 4 reasons: Cora, Cece, Emilia and Ava. I refuse to allow my four granddaughters to have a future that does not include Lakeside. Will you stand with me? If you have questions, please feel free to contact me directly.

Sincerely,
Tom Jones
