My SPS Story: Mary Edgerton, assistant principal of of Launch Missouri's Workforce

“I have spent over 25 years in the classroom teaching a variety of career-focused curriculum to various age levels. I started with SPS in 2001, and I started with Launch part-time as an adjunct teacher in 2014. I officially joined the Launch team full-time in 2021.

The most rewarding aspect of my career has always been assisting students in finding and preparing for their ideal career path. When the opportunity to develop Launch Missouri’s Workforce became available, I knew I wanted to become a part of the work.

In my new role with Launch, the opportunity to develop and deliver high-quality, career-focused pathways in Launch Missouri’s Workforce has had some challenges, but we have an incredibly talented team at Launch committed to removing any barriers that may arise.

If you have been a part of Launch, you know that our belief has always been a student’s opportunity should not be limited by their zip code. This belief will continue to guide me in my leadership role. We know the importance this work will have on virtual students and the future of Missouri’s workforce, and we are all honored and excited to be a part of it."
