Together Again!
Greetings!

Happy 2021-2022 school year! We are thrilled to have faculty and students back to school and work and have been eager to share with them the campus improvements we made over the summer.

We are also excited to share these updates with you, the members of our NDCR family ... thank you again for your support of NDCR!
Settling into Our New Home!
On June 9, we launched our Working for Our Future Capital Campaign at a kickoff event on our new campus. More than 100 donors joined us for this special event, which was facilitated entirely by our student ambassadors! Thanks to the generosity of our incredible donors, we have raised just shy of $6 million in pursuit of our $10 million goal.

We plan to fund upgrades to the campus, from making every inch of our campus safe and ADA-compliant to creating spaces for an expanded STEM program. This summer, several key projects were completed, such as:

  • The installation of new doors, lockers, durable vinyl flooring and carpeting in the library,
  • The removal of asbestos from classrooms and common areas,
  • Painting of six classrooms and school hallways, and
  • The installation of a state-of-the-art camera system to help ensure the safety of our students.

Significant progress has already being made, but we still have a long way to go as we strive to reach our goal! If you have any questions about our Working for Our Future Capital Campaign, please contact D.J. Beauregard by calling 978-689-8222 x 112 or emailing him at djbeauregard@ndcrhs.org
Maximizing the Potential of Our New Campus!
Our students are excited to enjoy all the amenities that our new campus has to offer, such as a multi-use sports and arts center!

This center includes a state-of-the-art gym with basketball and volleyball nets, as well as a stage that will be actively utilized by our school’s drama club. We are also in the process of collaborating with the City of Methuen’s Recreation Department to secure access to nearby baseball and soccer fields, which will create new athletic opportunities for our students. As campus minister Andrew Craig, the leader of the NDCR Drama Club, says, “Opportunities that we could have only dreamed of just a few short years ago abound on our new campus!
Getting Back to Work!
Over the summer, incoming freshmen and rising sophomores had the opportunity to take several courses in our annual Corporate Work Study Summer Training Institute (STI) and attain valuable interpersonal and technical skills, such as learning proper phone etiquette and understanding how to interact with customers.

As one student shared, "The Summer Training Institute improved my knowledge of technology and gave me the chance to practice talking with adults. These are skills that I will be able to put to good use in the workplace.”

Help our students put this incredible training to good use! If you or someone you know might be able to hire a full team of students at a corporate office within the Merrimack Valley area, please contact Dennis McCleary today at dmccleary@ndcrhs.org.
A Retreat to Remember
During orientation week for our new and returning faculty and staff members, we paused to gather for our annual retreat. Each year, the retreat provides us with an opportunity to spend time together as an NDCR family for a day of renewal and reflection. We engaged in a series of meaningful discussions that focused our attention on the goodness of God. We asked each other important questions such as, “Where do we see God’s goodness in our lives?” and “What obstacles are in our way that prevent us from effectively channeling God’s goodness to those around us?”
We begin this new year spiritually refreshed and ready to serve our students!
In Loving Memory of Our Dear Friends
This summer, we lost several beloved members of our NDCR family, including donors Bill DeLuca, Jack Higgins, and Steven Lindsay, as well as Sr. Mary Lou Graziano, SNDdeN, friend, supporter and former member of our advancement staff.

They each made a tremendous impact on NDCR.
William P. “Bill” DeLuca, Jr.
1934 – 2021

Bill DeLuca was a member of the NDCR family since 2007. He was a generous financial supporter of our mission, but he also connected our school with numerous CWSP opportunities over the years. These CWSP relationships with companies such as Woodworth Chevrolet-Cadillac, Auto Auction of New England, and Bank of New England endure to this day.
Sr. Mary Lou Graziano, SNDdeN
1938 – 2021

Sr. Mary Lou was a dedicated member of NDCR’s advancement staff for four years. She was delighted to support our mission, and she built long lasting connections with many of our donors. We loved laughing with Sr. Mary Lou, admired her care of our students and appreciated the many discussions about what more we could do to serve our students and their families.
John G. “Jack” Higgins
1931 – 2021

Jack Higgins believed deeply in NDCR’s mission, and he was a generous donor to our school. He once proudly spoke of his son John’s instrumental involvement with a program at Georgetown University that was designed to support students from Cristo Rey Network schools by providing them with items they needed for school (as well as essential items like winter coats). We are grateful for Jack’s support of our school and his family’s support of Cristo Rey students at NDCR and beyond.
Steven A. Lindsay
1939 – 2021

Steve Lindsay first established a connection with NDCR through his wife Elizabeth, who graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1968. They decided to support NDCR students by establishing the Steven and Elizabeth Lindsay Scholarship, which has provided much-needed tuition assistance to numerous students over the past several years. We are eternally grateful for his commitment to our mission.
If you wish to learn more about how you can contribute to help advance the mission of NDCR in the memory of these dear friends, contact our Office of Advancement by calling 978-689-8222 x 112 or emailing D.J. Beauregard at djbeauregard@ndcrhs.org
THANK YOU to everyone for your support of NDCR!
We look forward to seeing you soon!
