- Your KIPP Jacksonville Team & Family
Throughout this past year, we worked hard to share decisions that we have been considering and how we were approaching what would be best for KIPPsters, families, and staff. As we look towards the next school year, we are excited to share a few announcements! Please take a minute to watch them in this video . Also, visit our Back to School web page to watch the video again and to learn more about what is ahead. Over the summer, we will use this page to share updates about the 2020-21 school year.
It goes without saying that our unexpected school closure has been an adjustment for KIPPsters, families, and our staff. Even as we prepare to close out the school year next week on May 29th, we have started our planning for the 2020-21 school year. There is a lot that we do not know, and much is uncertain. However, we are committed to communicating with stakeholders along the way and incorporating thoughts and feedback in our decisions. With that in mind, a survey was sent out to parents earlier this week to share their thoughts about their KIPP At Home experience. If you are a parent and haven't already done so, we invite you to complete this survey . It will remain open until May 29th.

Podcast Episode 2: Turning Hope into Action: Why The COVID-19 Crisis Is an Opportunity To Reshape the Way We View Schooling
The COVID-19 pandemic has heightened the racial disparities and inequities black and brown families have been experiencing in the United States for decades. In this episode, KIPP Co-Founder and host Devin Levin is joined by Jessica Cunningham Akoto, Executive Director of KIPP Philadelphia and Benny Vásquez, Chief Equity Officer at the KIPP Foundation to discuss how educators, leaders, and advocates can use this unprecedented time as an opportunity to transform the way we think about schooling to better support the needs of students and the communities they live in.

We’ve enjoyed having the opportunity to partner with Florida State College at Jacksonville to support our students in college, careers, and beyond. Check out this video from our friends in Admissions and Recruitment who wanted to send a special welcome message to members of the Class of 2020 who will be enrolling at FSCJ.
