February is National Parents and Caregivers Leadership Month – a time to honor the vital roles of those caring for children. At CASA Lake County, we recognize the strength and dedication of parents and caregivers -- specifically those that navigate challenges and work to create stable, nurturing environments.

CASA volunteers advocate for children in the juvenile court system, ensuring they receive the services, education, and care they need. While the role of our volunteers is focused primarily on supporting children; often they also provide encouragement and support to foster families, guardians, and biological parents.

As we celebrate National Parents and Caregivers Leadership Month, we thank all parents and caregivers for their crucial role in supporting children. And we thank you, for partnering with us on this mission. Together we strengthen families!

Kudos for Some Amazing CASA Volunteers!

To CASA Tim for the successful closure of his case. His CASA youth aged out at 21 and is currently doing well as a Senior at the University of Illinois. Tim established great rapport with the youth, and will continue to be available as a support in the future. 

To CASA Alice for continuing to be a calm and comforting support to her foster parents as they navigate the child welfare system. She has such a caring relationship with her little one and the family.

Mission Statement

CASA Lake County exists to promote and protect the best interests of youth who have been found to be abused, neglected, or dependent. We train and empower volunteers to advocate for them in the courts and in the community to help them safely return to their families, or when not possible, help them achieve safe and permanent homes where they can thrive.
