MAY 3, 2026

The JFS Spring Celebration at Tamarack Country Club brought together friends, supporters, and community partners for an evening of connection, compassion, and shared purpose. More than 200 guests enjoyed a lively and welcoming atmosphere filled with great food, meaningful conversation, and a collective appreciation for the vital services provided by JFS. The evening highlighted the breadth of JFS programs and showcased how, through generosity and collaboration, hope is made real every day for individuals and families across the region.

Throughout the program, we reflected on the importance of standing together to support mental health care, food security, services for older adults, and assistance for those navigating times of transition and challenge. We were proud to recognize this year’s honorees: Marc Jaffe, Community Impact Award; Lindsey Rossler, Community Partnership Award; Alek Modi, Rising Star Award; and First County Bank, Corporate Partnership Award whose leadership, generosity, and dedication embody the values at the heart of JFS.

Incredible community support made the evening a true success. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Spring Celebration Committee for their guidance and hard work, and to our generous sponsors: Vranos Family Foundation, Robin Bartholomew Realtor, Zeena Hine, Debbie and David Rosmarin, Lynn and Vernon Schwartz, Anne Wichman, First County Bank, and Tito’s Vodka.

Your support ensures that JFS will continue to meet the moment--fulfilling growing needs in communities across Connecticut and expanding our reach to ensure equity and wrap around care to those who need us. Together, we are building a stronger, more compassionate community, and saying yes when it matters most.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a reminder that mental health is an essential part of overall well being. It’s also an opportunity to reduce stigma, encourage connection, and reaffirm our commitment to compassionate, accessible care for those who need it most.

At the JFS Greenwich Bennett Center for Behavioral Health, we see the importance of creating spaces where individuals feel supported, heard, and valued. Whether someone is seeking help for the first time or continuing an ongoing journey toward wellness, timely mental health care can be truly life changing.

In March alone, we provided 1,266 therapy sessions, welcomed 41 new clients, and supported 551 active clients, each number representing an individual taking steps toward healing and stability.

This month, and all year long, we remain dedicated to strengthening mental health resources, supporting our community, and reminding everyone that reaching out for help is a powerful act of strength.

JFS was proud to attend Hope Day: The Yellow Tulip Project, held at the YMCA of Greenwich in partnership with Greenwich Together. The event brought together youth, families, and community members to promote mental well being and help reduce stigma around mental health.

Attendees enjoyed arts and crafts, wellness activities, music, food, raffles, and resource tables hosted by local community partners. The day also highlighted The Yellow Tulip Project, a youth led initiative focused on “Smashing the Stigma,” with yellow tulips now blooming across town as a visible symbol of hope and mental health awareness.

JFS Norwich was proud to partner with Always Home to host the International Women’s Luncheon, a gathering that brought women from around the world together for connection, care, and celebration. Guests enjoyed meaningful conversation, delicious food, helpful resources, and precious moments of self care.

The luncheon created a rare opportunity for women to pause, restore, and support one another. The day served as a beautiful reminder that when women come together across cultures, we are stronger together.

JFS is looking for compassionate community members ready to make a difference. Whether you can volunteer an hour a week or support a special project, your time and talents help strengthen our programs and uplift the individuals and families we serve.
