Dear Friends,

2025 tested us in ways we could not have imagined.

We faced devastating funding cuts that threatened the foundation of our programs. Shifting federal policies undermined the rights of survivors, especially those who are undocumented, LGBTQIA+, or living in communities already carrying the weight of systemic inequities.

Every gift, every hour volunteered, and every word of encouragement mattered.

Together, you helped create thousands of small but powerful moments this year: a child sleeping soundly for the first time in months, a survivor hearing the words “we believe you,” a mother finally smiling again.

These victories may not always make headlines, but they are life-changing. And they were only possible because you chose to stand with us.

The Power of Wraparound Services

Safety is not just about leaving violence. It is about rebuilding lives with stability and hope. That is why Radiant Futures surrounds survivors with wraparound services.

In FY 24-25, your generosity made it possible to:

  • Provide 7,077 bed-nights of safety for 248 survivors, their families, and 12 pets.
  • Engage 253 volunteers who gave 1,722 hours of care. Provided 271 counseling sessions to adults and children, totaling 1,103 hours of mental health services.
  • Supported 151 clients with legal advocacy services and 44 clients with immigration advocacy services.
  • Educated 1,332 community members, taught 579 survivors, trained 154 professionals on Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking, and supervised 236 court-ordered visitations at no cost.

A survivor shared: “The first night in shelter, I cried because I could finally rest. I did not have to listen for footsteps outside my door.”

A volunteer, Angela, said: “I cannot change the whole world, but I can sit with someone for an hour and remind them they are not alone. That is worth everything.”

Each bed-night and volunteer hour represents more than a number. It is a moment of safety, dignity, and healing.

Why This Work Matters

Direct services alone are not enough. Survivors face barriers that call for meaningful, system-level change. Immigration status is often used as a tool of control, and many survivors are denied the protections they deserve. Communities of color continue to experience deep, systemic discrimination. Together, we can work toward access, safety, and equity for all survivors.

Shifting federal policies and funding cuts worsen these challenges. Without advocacy, survivors remain vulnerable.

Radiant Futures works not only in shelters and courtrooms, but also in policy spaces, ensuring survivors’ voices are heard.

One advocate explained: “When we speak up in policy spaces, we carry the voices of survivors who are often silenced.”

Your support makes it possible for Radiant Futures to stand as both a refuge and a voice for change.

Nearly 50 Years of Radiant Futures

Radiant Futures began in 1976 as the first domestic violence shelters in Orange County. It has grown into a comprehensive resource for survivors.

Over time, we expanded to serve children, LGBTQIA+ survivors, and persons who cause harm. We became more than a shelter. We became a hub of advocacy, prevention, and empowerment.

A longtime supporter said: “Radiant Futures has always been more than a place. It is a promise. A promise that survivors will not be forgotten.”

That promise has endured for nearly 50 years, and it will continue to guide us into the future.

Because of you, Alex found his voice. Because of you, Carmen and her daughter discovered refuge. Because of you, Maribel is living with pride.

We are deeply grateful.

But we must do more with less. Survivors are still told their safety is negotiable. We know it is not.

THAT IS WHY WE MUST RAISE $50,000 BEFORE DECEMBER 31.

This funding will sustain shelter, legal advocacy, counseling, and prevention programs.

Your gift tells each survivor: You matter. You are not alone. You deserve to be safe.

We invite you to consider making an end-of-year gift to help us begin 2026 with the resources needed to support even more individuals.

The next survivor is counting on us. We are counting on you.

Every donation, no matter the size, is a step toward a world where survivors can thrive. Thank you for believing in this mission and for being part of the change we are creating together. Here’s to a year of hope, growth, and new beginnings for all those we serve.

With appreciation,
