Congratulations to our incredible Wish Alumni graduating as part of the Class of 2026!

We’re proud to celebrate wish alum Nate, whose wish to meet the Washington Capitals was granted when he was 14 years old.

From becoming an honorary starter at a Capitals game to skating with Alexander Ovechkin, the experience left a lasting impact on his life.

Despite facing a heart condition and undergoing heart surgery at the beginning of his junior year, Nate has shown incredible strength and resilience.

Today, he’s doing very well, has almost fully recovered, and just finished hockey season playing for his high school team and a local county team.

Nate will head to college to study Sports Management — a path inspired by Ovechkin and the unforgettable support he received from the Washington Capitals and Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic.

We also want to recognize wish alum Talon, whose wish was for tuition assistance to help pursue his educational goals.

We are proud to celebrate his recent graduation from the Howard University School of Business, Class of 2026. Talon’s hard work and determination have led him to this incredible milestone, and we couldn't be happier for him.

We are inspired by all that Talon has accomplished and look forward to seeing the positive impact he will continue to make in his community and beyond. We are incredibly proud of all our wish alumni graduates and know their futures are bright.

Thank you to everyone who made the Operation Dream Maker Golf Classic at River Bend Golf and Country Club such an incredible success! It was an amazing day of coming together in support of our military wish families, including the 12 military wish kids who will be having their wish come true this summer.

At the Congressional Baseball Game on June 10^th, wish alumni families took to the field to celebrate the partnership among Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, Congressional Sports for Charity, Disney, and ESPN.

Over the last century, the bipartisan Congressional Baseball Game’s popularity has contributed to its evolution into a foundation, Congressional Sports for Charity.

The foundation provides support to worthy and effective charities serving vulnerable children and families in the Washington DC area, including Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic.

Join us on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Bar T Ranch in Gaithersburg, Maryland for a day full of fun, laughter, and reconnecting with fellow wish alumni and their families.

Enjoy exciting activities like ziplining, climbing rock walls, arts and crafts, and so much more.

We can’t wait to celebrate together and create more unforgettable memories!

For 40 years, United Airlines has helped Make-A-Wish bring hope, strength, and joy to children facing critical illnesses. On June 6, 2026, we were honored to celebrate this partnership at United Airlines' Make More Wishes event at Dulles International Airport.

Three wish families were treated to an unforgettable behind-the-scenes aviation experience, offering a rare glimpse into the world of air travel. From getting up close to United aircraft and exploring the cargo hold to learning about air traffic operations, every moment sparked excitement and discovery.

The families even had the opportunity to explore an aircraft from nose to tail, spend time in the cockpit, experience the First Class cabin, and meet the pilots and flight attendants who help make travel wishes possible.

For these children and their families, this experience was about much more than airplanes. It was a chance to create joyful memories, explore freely, and experience the wonder of flight in a way few people ever do.

We are deeply grateful to United Airlines for four decades of partnership and for continuing to make life-changing experiences like this possible for wish children across our region.
