Tom Golisano Again Named to the Chronicle of Philanthropy's Top 50 Philanthropists List, Ranking 12th

The Chronicle of Philanthropy has just announced the 50 donors who gave the most to charity in 2025. Included in this prestigious list is Tom Golisano, who ranked 12th among the Top 50, having donated $428 million to non-profit organizations in 2025.


The annual report, in addition to providing rankings, provides background on donors and their gifts and examines giving trends. The Chronicle of Philanthropy is an independent organization and the premier source of fact-based information for nonprofits and foundations.

2025 marks the fifth time Tom has been honored on the Top 50 list. He ranked eighth in 2024 with gifts totaling $500 million; 36th in 2012 with giving totaling $33 million; 50th in 2009 with donations exceeding $16 million; and 38th in 2002 with his philanthropy totaling $19 million.

The majority of Tom's giving in 2025 focused on launching the Golisano Children’s Alliance, a national network of 12 children’s hospitals. The Alliance is a national initiative dedicated to elevating pediatric care nationwide. It provides strategic funding and brings together leading children’s hospitals to expand services, strengthen collaboration, and ensure that children and families have access to the highest quality medical care close to home. Together, Alliance members are building a nationally recognized network that exemplifies excellence, dignity, and innovation in pediatric health care, improving outcomes for children and families nationwide.
