Cuyahoga Heights Schools Response to HB 99 Passage

Recently, Governor DeWine signed into law House Bill 99. The law would permit school districts to pass policies that would allow employees of the district to possess guns in school provided they received a designated amount of training.

The Cuyahoga Heights Board of Education WILL NOT be changing its current policy that prohibits weapons of any type to be brought onto school grounds with the exception of law enforcement personnel. The current policy can be found here.

The Board held a discussion about the passage of the law at its July 19, 2022, Board of Education meeting. All the meetings’ audio are archived and you can here that discussion at this link.

Additional signage will be posted to emphasize that weapons of any type are not permitted on school grounds.

Fall Sports

As of August 1, fall sports are underway here at Cuyahoga Heights Schools. Both athletes and coaches are working extremely hard, and putting in a lot of hours in anticipation of making their 2022 debut as Red Wolves!

There's music in the air at Cuyahoga Heights Schools! How sweet the sound! The first week of band camp will wrap up today and week two will start on Monday, August 8.  July Band Newsletter

Things are looking like new!

McConkey Flagpole, Cleveland, not only helped to spruce up the school grounds but also provided entertainment for the staff with their skillful pole climbing ability.
