Connecticut's Shifting Power Map Subject of Tomorrow's Meeting

Mark Pazniokas

Capitol Bureau Chief and co‑founder of the CT Mirror, Mark Pazniokas, will brief the Y’s Men tomorrow morning on how Connecticut’s power map is shifting with fights over housing, taxes, and local control.

Why it matters: The statewide trends he covers, including Democrats gaining ground in once‑red suburbs, the governor's push for an “affordable Connecticut,” and blowback from Fairfield County on zoning and density, are reshaping politics, property values, and services in towns like Westport, Fairfield, Norwalk, Greenwich, and Weston.

What he’ll cover: Pazniokas will explain what to expect in the next legislative session, who really wields clout in Hartford, and how looming decisions on housing, budgets, and municipal aid could impact your backyard.

Y's Men Thursday morning meetings are in Hoskins Hall downstairs in the Saugatuck Congregational Church, 245 Post Road East in Westport. Coffee, donut, and bagel social hour begins at 9:00 am, business meeting at 10:00 am, speaker at 10:30 am. Come early and meet your fellow members. Guests are always welcome.
