Police say they cannot stress enough how vital is it to lock your doors and keep windows closed when you leave your home, even briefly. This simple action can help stem a very significant amount of crime in our neighborhood.

North Branch Park Preserve Meeting
Wednesday June 27, 2018
6:00 p.m.
DePaul University Student Center Room 314
2250 N Sheffield

A North Branch Park will balance new density along the Chicago River. Public open space will ease pressures in our park-starved area as we face the new Lincoln Yards development with a daytime population of 50,000 and possibly a 20,000 seat stadium and a large entertainment complex.

Learn about the vision, the need and the numbers for a real Park. Currently, not one foot of land in the entire North Branch Industrial Corridor is publicly-owned parkland.

The meeting will be streamed on Facebook Live at the Facebook page of the North Branch Park Preserve. Click here.

New Street Lights on Lake Shore Drive

The Chicago Department of Transportation (CDOT) is installing new LED street lights on Lake Shore Drive starting this Sunday night. Crews will install new lights on the Drive from June 24 through June 29, and the southbound Drive from July 15 through July 20. The work will be done at night, and CDOT will close one lane of traffic from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. in each case.

Over a four year period, the Chicago Smart Lighting Project (CSLP) is replacing outdated High Pressure Sodium streetlights across the City with modern, energy efficient LED lights. More than 45,000 streetlights have already been installed as part of the modernization program. For more information, see
