The following is a quick report out on the issues feedback we have received:

Crime and Justice: people feel that there has been an increase in crime along with a decrease in the holding of criminals accountable. 

I agree. We need to support a movement of courts to the local cities to deal directly with the low-level crimes and quality of life impacts that demonstrate swift and proper justice. This allows the central courts to concentrate and do more to process arrests quickly. We need to support our communities protecting them from repeat offenders be it vandalism, trespass, theft, or disturbing the peace.

Roxanne Carrillo Garza


“I have spent the last 22 years as a community organizer fighting for economic justice, education equity, and neighborhood environments that help families thrive.” Roxanne is uniquely qualified to serve as our Supervisor because of her professional background and lived experiences that mirror the residents of District 4.

Roxanne also has a BA in Political Science and an MSW with a focus on community planning, organizing, and policy. "I've dedicated my life to policy advocacy and creating effective solutions within government - first as a county Public Health worker and now as a Health Policy Director for a non-profit organization."

Ken Carlson


Ken’s been getting it done for our community for over 30 years. He attended Mountain View Elementary in Concord and Pleasant Hill Middle and High Schools. Proud Eagle Scout with Walnut Creek Troop 820. Ken learned at an early age about giving back. His grandfather, James Moriarty, served Contra Costa as a county supervisor. His mom, a registered nurse, cared for our most vulnerable at Hospice of the East Bay. Ken joined the Concord Police force where he served for 29-years working as a neighborhood patrol officer and crisis negotiator to help keep our families and community safe. In 2012, Ken’s neighbors elected him to the Pleasant Hill City Council, where he served as mayor and vice mayor
