Dr. Marian Arnold is a practicing artist and academic, who in addition to being represented in major South African collections, has published widely on colonial and post-colonial Southern African art. Her publications include From Union to Liberation: South African Women Aritists 1910-1994 (co-editor), Art in Eastern Africa (editor), and many others.
Arnold currently teaches at the School of the Arts at Longborough University in the United Kingdom.
