Tomorrow's Hope: TODAY
October Newsletter, Issue 54
| | |
For families facing financial challenges, a Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation scholarship provides more than tuition assistance; it offers hope, stability, and the opportunity for a brighter future.
Aleeyah received $3,500 in tuition assistance to attend St. Patrick's School in Bayshore for the
2026–2027 school year. Her mother, a hardworking single parent, is navigating the challenges of raising her daughter while returning to school to further her own education and build a more financially secure future for their family.
Balancing work, school, childcare, housing, transportation, and everyday household expenses has placed a significant financial strain on their family. Despite these challenges, Aleeyah’s mother remains determined to improve their circumstances while ensuring her daughter continues to receive a quality Catholic education. This scholarship provides much-needed relief, allowing her to focus on building a better future for both herself and Aleeyah.
In a heartfelt letter of gratitude, Aleeyah’s mother shared:
“Your support is more than financial help; it is an investment in my daughter’s future and an encouragement to continue working hard to give her the best opportunities possible.”
Aleeyah’s story is a powerful reminder that behind every scholarship is a family working hard to give their child a brighter future.
You can make that future possible. Your generosity can help more families overcome financial obstacles and ensure that children across Long Island have access to an education rooted in faith, academic excellence, and Catholic values.
| A promising opportunity for Catholic education in New York | |
On October 9, 2026, Governor Kathy Hochul announced New York State’s intention to participate in the new Federal Scholarship Tax Credit program, beginning January 1, 2027. The program could provide additional scholarship funding to help families access Catholic education.
With Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation committing a record $2.7 million in tuition assistance to more than 1,000 students this school year, this initiative offers exciting potential to help even more children across Long Island.
While final guidelines and implementation steps are still pending, Tomorrow’s Hope will continue to monitor developments and explore opportunities to participate.

Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation is pleased to welcome Reverend Matthew Browne, S.T.L., Bishop’s Delegate to the Department of Education for the Diocese of Rockville Centre, to its Board of Directors.
In addition to his diocesan responsibilities, Father Matt is in residence at the Church of St. Joseph in Garden City, where he also serves as a part-time Parochial Vicar. In his role with the Department of Education, he works closely with Catholic schools across Long Island, supporting their mission of academic excellence, faith formation, and service.
A longtime friend and supporter of Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation, Father Matt has been actively involved in our mission for many years, generously sharing his time, spiritual guidance, and commitment to Catholic education. His longstanding relationship with the Foundation and dedication to the students and families we serve make him a wonderful addition to our Board.
"I am immensely grateful for the invitation to serve on the Board of Directors of the Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation. Every young Catholic deserves the opportunity to deepen their relationship with Jesus Christ through the gift of a Catholic education. I look forward to supporting the Foundation’s vital mission of making that gift accessible to more families and ensuring that generations of young people have the opportunity to grow in faith, knowledge, and love of Christ and his Church."
We are grateful for Father Matt’s continued support and look forward to working alongside him to advance our mission.
| Faith in Action: Celebrating Catholic School Traditions | Throughout October, Catholic elementary schools across Long Island celebrated their faith through prayer, service, and meaningful traditions. From Rosary rallies and school Masses to special blessings and faith-filled activities, students at Holy Family, St. Aidan, St. Martin de Porres, Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. Brigid/Our Lady of Hope, and Trinity Regional demonstrated how Catholic education nurtures faith, kindness, and community. | | |

Investing in Catholic education close to home | |
Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation is proud to recognize longtime supporter Armand D’Amato for his generous
five-year commitment to adopt St. Dominic Elementary School in Oyster Bay, beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, through our Adopt-A-School Program.
A resident of Oyster Bay and a dedicated supporter of Tomorrow’s Hope for nearly a decade, Armand has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to education, supporting students at both the Catholic elementary school and higher education levels. His latest gift reflects his belief in the importance of investing in education and giving children a strong foundation for future success, beginning right in his own community.
“An elementary Catholic education nurtures the whole child, mind, character, faith, and sense of responsibility toward others. Alongside strong academic learning, children encounter the Gospel values of compassion, honesty, respect, and service in their daily school life,” shared Armand D’Amato.
We are deeply grateful to Armand for his longstanding friendship, generosity, and dedication to Catholic education. His five-year commitment will help open doors for students at St. Dominic and ensure that the gift of Catholic education continues to make a difference for families in Oyster Bay for years to come.
